You would be so proud of your son and the man he has become. He gave me one of your memorial shirts today. I'll wear it with pride, thank you for your ultimate sacrifice in service to your community.

I still remember our conversations. How you would monitor local bands and come to back me up on calls although we were from two different agencies, and you didn't have to. I remember the stories you would tell me about past adventures. I remember how proud you were of your family, and how you were working hard to make a good life for them. Conversations about life? We had them. You were a genuinely GOOD brother, and I appreciated every time we were able to bump into each other for a quick convo.

I still remember the day of your funeral. The words from your family, and memories of the few times we shared became overwhelming, and led to a uncontrollable flow of tears. We had TRULY lost an asset to our community!!!

I miss you brother Tom. I will continue to give my all to make this world a better place as long as the Most High gives me breath and strength to do so.

Thank you for being a good brother. I learned a lot from you.

P.O. 533, 506, and 007 district ranger.

It's been 12 years ago tonight that you were taken so brutally from us. On that night my heart and soul were shattered. I'm sitting here in the dark with your candle lit remembering every minute of that night and the days that followed. I miss you my little brother and love you more. Rest In Peace ....

On the eve of the 11th anniversary, I still think of you often Tommy. I went and saw the Police Memorial in Springfield last Saturday morning. It was surreal. Please watch over my guys/ladies now that I am with County. Say hello to Wally for me.

Officer Cook's story was read in Richton Park Police Department's roll call on 3-29-17 to remember and honor him. I personally went on a call at our Metra a few months prior to this incident. I remember how professional and nice he was.

I didn't forget about you Christmas! Christmas Eve I lite the candle that burns for everyone I've lost and I poured a shot of whiskey and left it on the fireplace mantel where it will stay until New Years Day. Merry Christmas and Happy New Year! I miss you Tommy and I love you....

In reading these reflections, I realized that this Good Man influenced many during his brief life. Your friends and relatives bear witness to your character. Thank you, Sir, for your service, and for your standing strong in the Thin Blue Line.

Ten years ago tonight you were taken from your wife, children, family and friends. I still don't understand why, and I'm sure I never will. I miss you every day but on September 27 of every year its the worst. Everything comes rushing back and I relive every moment of those days. You were a good honest man, a wonderful husband, father, son and the best brother ever. I love you Tommy. Rest in Peace....
