Your heroism and service is honored today, the 69th anniversary of your death. Your memory lives and you continue to inspire. Thank you for your service. My cherished son Larry Lasater was a fellow police officer murdered in the line of duty on April 24, 2005 while serving as a Pittsburg, CA police officer.

Patrolman Manfra, today marks the 66th anniversary of your tragic death. Your death was the result of a terrible mistake that brought grief to your family and to the family of the man who made that mistake. I cannot but think that you have forgiven him. I hope he could forgive himself. It's a lesson for all of us in being careful.

God Bless, thank you for your service to the United States, especially in time of war, and may you continue to Rest in Peace, Brother.

I just read the circumstances of this loss and it is terribly sad that the negligence on the part of one officer cost another officer his life. I am sorry for the pain and suffering that two families experienced because of this tragedy.

Eternal rest grant unto him, O Lord, and let the perpetual light shine upon Patrolman Victor Salvatore Manfra. May his soul, and the souls of all the faithful departed, through the mercy of God, rest in peace. Amen.

With my sympathy to Officer Manfra's surviving family.
