Leave a Reflection

Reflections for Police Officer Edwanton Allen "Eddie" Thomas

I come to the ODMP often to remember my late fiancé Dennis. Everytime I come here it breaks my heart to know that yet another officer has fallen and that yet another family has to live their lives without the man they loved. My heart goes out to everyone who knew and loved Officer Thomas. Know that you are not alone in the "journey" that you walk. Should you ever need anything please don't hesitate to contact me. The Davis Co. Sheriff's Office in Iowa will always know how to reach me. You will be in my thoughts.

From reading the reflections left for Eddie, he sounds like he was a great man with a beautiful spirit. Those of you who knew him in life were so blessed to have been able to share in it. I hope that you will all continue to find a way to celebrate and remember Eddie's life and the MAN that he was. Remember that Eddie's life was about so much more than the way he died. Eddie will continue to live on as long as we continue to remember him.

Officer Thomas, thank you for helping to make this world a little safer for us all. YOU will not be forgotten. Please continue to watch over all of us as only you can. If you happen to bump into my late fiancé Dennis up there give him a big hug for me and the kids. It's been three and a half years but we still miss him terribly.

Wishing you brighter and better days,

Jocelyne :)

Officer Thomas:

Words cannot describe how much the people of the City of Brier benefitted from your serving them. You left them much too soon.

Whoever did this to you will be punished severely and put behind bars for life. Justice will be served, Officer Thomas, and the City of Brier Police Department will see to it that justice will be served for one of their fallen comrades.

I salute you & so does my former Civil Air Patrol Squadron,

--Airman 2nd Class Liz Stoner (Formerly)

PS: Will always hold you in the utmost highest of sincerities and the highest of all respects, Officer Thomas, since you deserve. No patrolman should have to die with indignity. If they're going to die, it should be with respect and dignity. I'm going to extend that to you, Patrolman Thomas.

Knowing you was a pleasure. I know you died doing what you loved but that doesn't make the sadness any less lonely. Your smile and laughter was infectious and your care for others was unmeasureable. The world certainly lost a good soul when yours left us to go to heaven. You will never be forgotten. Your family should be very proud and all you touched in your short life are certainly blessed. Rest peacefully my friend.

To the family of Officer Thomas

Thank you for sharing a wonderful person with the community. You are in the thoughts and prayers of more people than you know. May you find some comfort in that.
Always remember the life and times you shared with Eddie, and be strong and united as a family to help you through this most difficult time.
Eddie will never be forgotten and is only a thought away. He will now be able to watch and protect over each and everyone of you.
Be proud of the fact that you raised a wonderful son, brother, friend and officer.
Also know that you are now part of a large police family that we look after you and care for you especially at this time of loss.
