Dad,

It has been a hard week. I have always relied on your strength when I was growing up, but I did not realize that I was learning it also. We all stood by your side, and know how hard you fought. You will always be my hero and an inspiration to me. There are few men like you. I love you Dad.

Officer Dennis Shuck, you are a hero. You died keeping the streets of Cheyenne safe and we thank you. There is a hole in every ones heart left by your absence. Although I never knew you personally, you worked with my son, Officer Heber Edwards, and that makes you family.

To Dennis's family and fiance, I would like to assure you, he will NEVER be forgotten and as we pass where he fell, may we all remember the Hero that he was, fore it takes a brave man or woman to wear a uniform that any day could require you to die for what you believe in, Dennis made that sacrifice, he died an honorable death, may we all do the same.

Ride on Dennis, NO FEAR!

I try to get on this website as often as I can and when I do I think I stop breathing for a second as the screen comes up and shows me once again that more people are joining my husband in Heaven patroling bigger and busier streets. My thoughts and prayers are with your family as they now join our big family of survivors. Please know that you will be in my thoughts for the next several days as you prepare for what will be one of the busiest hectic days of your lives. Have faith that one day we will all meet up in Heaven with our beloved where we will be happy once again. I wish I could tell you it gets easier but it just gets tolerable. God Bless You All and God Speed Officer Dennis Shuck.....Love, Christy Rios and family.

We are so sorry to here about your tragic loss of a loved one in law enforcement. Our thoughts and prayers go out to you in support. As we personally know, sometimes there is little comfort that comes from words. Keep focused as you can on the memories and joyous times for these things may bring you comfort. Rely heavily on family, friends, and other law enforcement. Honor your fallen loved one, for their sacrifice will not be forgotten.

May you rest in peace and keep watch over your fellow officers and keep them safe. You will be sorely missed by this community. You were a great inspiration to us all and we can learn alot from people like you.
We will miss you Dennis. Your co-workers/friends, for law enforcement is a huge family, wish your family the best during this difficult and emotional time. Your fellow officers will grow strength having known you, and with time, we will all heal.

And to fitfully qoute and provide a fitting group (Creed) for how many of us feel in our loss.......

Can you take me higher?
To the place where blind men see
Can you take me higher?
To the place with golden streets

And in closing,
you are already there, Dennis, awaiting the rest of us.

We once again have lost a part of the brotherhood of law enforcement. These times are difficult and the family and department has a long road of recovery ahead of them. The staff of Cops Evangelist Ministries would like you to know that we are and will continue to pray for you in this time of sorrow. Remember that God will not give you more then you can handle. Philippians 4:13 says…I can do all things through Christ which strengthened me.
