Gary was a good friend of mine. I met him in 2001 when my father was killed in the line of duty. When my life was shattered, he helped pick up the pieces and put them back together. Those who knew Gary knew he was a better man than most. He spent his entire carreer honoring those officers who were lost in the line of duty. He rode a bicycle to Washington DC to make sure the lost were never forgotten. He rode a stationary bicycle in front of a courthouse for 24 hours straight for my Dad so he would not be forgotten. Gary will never be forgotten.

Gary - thank you for what you've done for my family...and the family of hundreds of other officers killed in the line of duty. Your love will not go unnoticed - God has a special seat for you in Heaven.

To the family - you are in my thoughts and prayers.

To the family, friends, and officers that knew Lt. Dudley, my thoughts and prayers are with you as you face the trying times ahead of you. Please know your not alone.

Then the rainstorm came, over me
And I felt my spirit break
I had lost all of my, belief you see
And realized my mistake
But time through a prayer, to me
And all around me became still

I need love, love's divine
Please forgive me now I see that I've been blind
Give me love, love is what I need to help me know my name

Through the rainstorm came sanctuary
And I felt my spirit fly
I had found all of my reality
I realize what it takes

'Cause I need love, love's divine
Please forgive me now I see that I've been blind
Give me love, love is what I need to help me know my name

Oh I, don't bet (don't bend), don't break (don't break)
Show me how to live and promise me you won't forsake
'Cause love can help me know my name

Well I try to say there's nothing wrong
But inside I felt me lying all along
But the message here was plain to see
Believe me

'Cause I need love, love's divine
Please forgive me now I see that I've been blind
Give me love, love is what I need to help me know my name

Oh I, don't bet (don't bend), don't break (don't break)
Show me how to live and promise me you won't forsake
'Cause love can help me know my name

Love can help me know my name
