Leave a Reflection

Reflections for Deputy Sheriff Michael Anthony Callin

Mike, you were a great zone partner, and it was an honor to work side by side with you. I still remember going on calls together and when you used to call me to "play" and catch bad guys, I'll never forget those times. You will always be my motivation to to do my best. From the bottom of my heart I can say that you are a man with a lot of integrity and dedication to your family and job. Many of us should always look up to your fine qualities

You will always be alive within our souls, and someday will meet again, I still have to serve the lord until I'm called. Rest in peace my brother...

The men and women of DeKalb County (Ga) Public Safety wish to extend our deepest sympathy to the family and co-workers of this brave man. We know all too well how the pain of seeing a Brother Officer taken away suddenly and maliciously cuts deep to the soul.
Know that you are all in our prayers and will always be.
God Bless and keep you all.

Lord,
He was yours to give,
and yours to call home,
please stand by his brothers,
so they don't feel alone,
dry the tears of his family,
so they clearly see-
that he gave his all,
so all could have peace.
Blessed are they,
the children of God,
with heavy hearts,
and honor - they trod,
to pay their respects,
to give their salute,
and to ask for your mercy,
on heroes in Blue.

Michael, rest easy brother, we have the watch.

It pain's me to place the memorial band around my badge. It also causes me to rethink how I reflect my faith in this vocation. I'm not sure, but I think I may have met you before over in Pine Hills. As your reflections indicate, I am more than sure you were pleasing to God in all that you did. You have left a message in my SSpirit, for the example that you have shown. If Gos should call my name while doing this job, may I be found as faithful as your memory. No matter if it's in this vocation, or another, may we all show the Grace and mercy of the Father. Grace and Peace be yours!

Rest in peace Deputy Callin.....You will never be forgotten.

The Monument by retired Sgt. Hahn, L.A.P.D.

I never dreamed it would be me
my name for all eternity
Recorded here at this hallowed place
Alas, my name, no more my face

"In the line of duty" I hear them say
My family now the price will pay
My folded flag stained with their tears
We only had those few short years

The badge no longer on my chest
I sleep now in eternal rest
My sword I pass to those behind
And pray they keep this thought in mind

I never dreamed it would be me
And with heavy heart and bended knee
I ask for all here from the past
Dear god, let my name be the last

Mike was a great cop and an ever better person. I was just talking and laughing with him at the DUI Center two nights prior. Mike was always happy and smiling. He was an ordinary person doing extraordinary things!! We will miss him dearly.

Mike we are extremely gratefull that you were a Christian young man. This means we will meet again where there is no pain and no suffering. Mike we really appreciated you coming by Anna's house every night when she needed you. If you remember that's where we first met and we talked several times after that. We were always impressed with your friendly smile, superb attitude, and willingness to help anyone in need. We are only sorry we live so far away and did not see you more often. Thank you for your friendship and support. We love you Mike.

Words cannot express the sympathy and grief I feel. There is nothing anyone can say, and nothing anyone can do to heal a broken heart or take away the pain. I know you're with Jesus, in a home that's filled with bliss. There are no tears in Heaven, no more heartache and no pain.

Someone took your life and I promise you this, your memory will survive.

When I saw you last week, you made me smile, as you always did. You were my good friend and you will be missed.

Take your place in Heaven my friend, and spread your wings and fly. I'll see you again in the end.
