Leave a Reflection

Reflections for Police Officer Gary Jonathan Buro

I still think about you often. It makes me wonder about fate, devotion and perseverence. We miss you, Gary.

You are a hero, thank you for your sacrifice. We visited the page to remember our dear friend, Ryan Cappelletty. Your stories are so similar. Thank you for your service and sacrifice. May God wrap His arms around your family and provide continual care.

I was in Company 44 in the 2000 NYPD academy and Gary was I believe the Company Sgt for Company 43. I was next to him everyday in PT. He was just a great guy to be around during the 8 months @ the academy. He got me through a few runs and always had a smile on his face. I never saw him after we graduated the academy. I heard the horrible news shortly after he was killed and was thinking about him as of late. I just wanted to let the family know people out there are still thinking about him. He was without a doubt one of the good guys. RIP

I can't believe it's been five years. I don't think there is a day that goes by that I don't remember and think about you. You will always be remembered. Rest in peace my brother, we miss you and we will never forget.

Gary with you now is Trooper Mark D. Barrett, take care of him as he's a friend of mine. Mark and I worked together before he joined the call to duty of the Virgina State Police.

God bless you both as you are greatly missed but not forgotten.

I just wanted to take a moment to thank you for your service to your Country and the Communities that you served throughout your life. I'm sure now you know just how many lives that you have touched.

It takes a special person to lay down his life to protect the lives of others, even those who you did not know.

Four years have gone by so quickly, but you are still thought of often, even by those who you did not know.

Just wanted to say you are remembered and missed. Thank you for what you stood for.

It is because of people like this that we can feel safe in an ever more dangerous time. Thank you to all who serve us so well.

Another year has passed and you are still admired and respectfully remembered in the hearts and minds of so many. My thoughts and prayers are with your loved ones and friends on this anniversary of your EOW. You will never be forgotten.

Your heroism and service is honored today, the fourth anniversary of your death. Your memory lives and you continue to inspire. Thank you for your service. My cherished son Larry Lasater was a fellow police officer who was murdered in the the line of duty on April 24, 2005 while serving as a Pittsburg, CA police officer. He was also your fellow Marine so I must bid you Semper Fi.

Time never diminishes respect. Your memory will always be honored and revered. I pray for the solace of all those who love and remember you.

Rest In Peace.

Just stopping by to say hello and thinking about you and your family! I met you 4 years ago when we both started to work for Chesterfield. I left my county job over a year ago to return to go back to school, and have returned to work again for the county after finishing school. Couldn't help but remember laughing in the new employee orientation and defensive driving class with you and the rest of the crew as I sat through it all again this week. Thanks for all you did while you were here, and thanks for continuing to watch out for others from up above.

1 day after the 3rd anniversary...I had heard rumors, but never heard the truth. Makes me sorry I missed our 10th reunion. I will always remember you, and your great ability to make anyone laugh when they needed it most. I knew when you went into the Marines after HS that you would do something great, and make a difference. I am very proud to have known you. RIP.
