Brother Gary, you will never be forgotten by the men and women of the Chesterfield County Police Department. I received your FOP application that you had filled out. The brothers and sisters of Chesterfield FOP Lodge #47 accepted your application and voted you in as a member. We will remember you in our hearts each year at the memorial service. You are with God now, and although our hearts are saddened by your loss we know you are in a better place. We will carry on the fight in your honor. May God bless your family in this great time of loss.

Butt Nut so this is what it comes to. You helped pull me out of the discussed that this job brings. Your positive attitude helped me over the hump of discussed, that a lot of COPS feal. You here my last trainee! We worked out our first contract. You here my alternate union rep. You left and still you were the even mind to talk to . You continued to put everything in perspective. You went through so much, yet you were still so positive. I just want to Thank You. You were alwayas a COPS, COP. You will never be For Gotten. Live on in peace with Jen. Gary, I Love You Brother!

Gates of Fire, by Stephen Pressfield

"This is my shield.
I bear it before me into battle,
but it is not mine alone.
It protects my brother on my left.
It protects my city.
I will never let my brother
out of its shadow
nor my city out of its shelter.
I will die with my shield before me
facing the enemy."

I only met Gary once. During that one meeting it was easy to see what my friend Kath found in him. I know how her eyes would light up whenever she spoke of him and the plans they had to start a new life together. We had planned to get together agian but with all of our busy lives, I'm sorry it never happened.
My prayers go out to Kath and Gary's family and friends. What a tragic loss of a wonderful person. Gary may you rest in peace.

gary,

I have alot of family in chesterfield and i just heard of your death. My mother is a police officer in Michigan and just thinking about how she couldn't come home one day bothers me sometimes. You made a great sacrifice, thanks for protecting my family and friends.

Just a friend

Thanks for your service, it's a shame that I didn't say this message earlier. This tragedy at least has taught me to never take life for granted and that it's important to thank our local police officers for all they do for the community.

Rest in peace Gary.

Blessed are the peacemakers, for they shall be called the sons of God. Matthew 5:9. Gary was always there with a joke or grin to brighten your day. Heartbreaking to hear of the trials in this life; rest in peace, in God's arms, with your loves ones, knowing you will always be remembered.
