We are both so truly sorry for your loss. Craig was a wonderful person, decidated son and someone who you would want to know. Jim and Cindy, you are 2 people who we admire and respect and we have watched the love from both of you raise 2 very special children. Craig will be missed tremendously. I remember when he came to our house with Solvay Rescue when my son injured his foot. He was crying so hard and Craig came right to him, calmed him down and then kidded with him, asking if he dropped a basketball on his toe. Mike stopped crying and Craig made us all laugh. He took such good care of him and I remember when he left, I said, "that has to be Tod's son". We love you guys and are here for you whenever for whatever.

The policeman stood and faced God,
Which must always come to pass.
He hoped his shoes were shining,
Just as brightly as his brass.

"Step forward now, policeman.
How shall I deal with you?
Have you always turned the other cheek?
To my church have you been true?"

The policeman squared his shoulders and said,
"No lord, I guess I ain't,
Because those of us who carry a badge
can't always be a saint."

I've had to work most Sundays,
and at times my talk was rough,
and sometimes I've been violent,
Because the streets are awfully tough.

But I never took a penny,
That wasn't mine to keep
Though I worked a lot of overtime
When the bills got just too steep.

And I never passed a cry for help,
Though at time I shook with fear.
And sometimes, God forgive me,
I've wept unmanly tears.

I know I don't deserve a place
Among the people here.
They never wanted me around
Except to calm their fear.

If you've a place for me here, Lord,
It needn't be so grand.
I never expected or had too much,
But if you don't I'll understand.

There was a silence all around the throne
Where the saints had often trod.
As the policeman waited quietly,
For the judgement of his god.

"Step forward now, policeman,
You've born your burdens well.
Come walk a beat on Heaven's streets,
You've done your time in hell"

Rest in Peace Brother, we have the watch from here.

It doesn't matter the color of our uniform. It doesn't matter whether we are called trooper, officer or deputy. All law enforcement officers are family. When we lose a fellow officer we all hurt a bit inside. A piece of goes with them. Rest in peace Trooper Todeschini we have the watch from here. It will be our honor to carry on in memory of such a true hero.

Fellow LEO

April 25, 2006

I, my family and fellow troopers would like to extend our condolences at such a tragic time. I did not have the opportunity to meet Trooper Todeschini but, had the pleasure of meeting others of the NYSP and visit one to the Troop Stations a few years ago on vacation. May the Citizens of New York, the NYSP Administration and his fellow troopers remember the contribution(s, effort and ultimate sacrifice that Trooper Todeschini has given.
May the highway to Heaven be smoother than the ones on Earth.

Corporal Eric J. Dunn
Indiana State Police (Bloomington Dist.)

Dearest Trooper Todeschini: "Thank you" for the work you did to keep everyone safe just seems so inadequate. Just as those words are inadequate to thank you for being willing to make sacrifices everyday...those are the only word we can say to express gratitude that you lived to protect your state.

Perhaps you were one of those who came from your Department when we lost so many of our California Highway Patrol Officers (six in five months beginning in September 2005) and you took time to honor your fellow officers. We were touched that you took time to honor our friends. God bless you who made the trip to sunny (except the day of CHP Officer John Bailey's funeral) California.

May your family find comfort from memories and stories about you.

Troopers: Please remember this young man every day so his loss is never in vain. Thank you for the work you do to keep everybody safe. We are privileged to have you in our world. Craig is now on patrol in Heaven, keeping watch on the uniformed down here. We are blessed by his spirit.

Thank you and God bless you all,

Love, Your new Aunt in California

Our hero of blue has fallen
A time of peace is calling
For you to go with God above
He'll give you wings of blue with love
To send a message for everyone
To remember a life and what was done
A dream fulfilled of our angel of blue
We honor you for the job you swore to do
A promise was kept from a hero like you
You put your life on the line each day
To protect and serve in everyway
And to give you thanks we will do our part
To share your message and to keep you in our heart

At the beginning of every shift, Myself and the other officers on shift dedicate the day to the memory of a fallen officer.

Tonight, April 24, 2006 we dedicated the shift to the memory of Trooper Craig J. Todeschini who died in the line of duty just yesterday.

When one law enforcement officer falls, we all stumble for a while, but we will carry on.

Trooper Todeschini's sacrifice will never be forgotten.
