Reflections for Trooper Craig J. Todeschini

GOD Bless you son, in blue. May GOD comfort your family with his love and grace.

Until we all meet again...
Rest our son in blue,
Knowing that we that remain,
Shall continue this fight for right until our end,
And we shall rejoice together,
When we are gathered together in Heaven for evermore...

Good Job...

Till we meet again...

If they only knew!

Passing you like the wind,
if they only knew they sinned.
When they flew by you,
once again you did what you KNEW.
You turned to pursue.

Whether you were on patrol,
or just setting a goal.
We knew you would succeed,
as you knew how to lead.
You would do so while planting a seed.

An explorer you did inspire,
as Lt you would fight every fire.
As you went on this final ride,
know you will always bring pride.
Both to your unborn child and your bride.

Troop D,
was where you were to be.
From Lafayette to Solvay,
you gave your all each day.
Where there was a will there was a way.

We make a pledge to you this day,
the rider of the bike will not get away.
It's our watch now,
and we do vow.
To catch the rider somehow.

Craig we will miss you. Thank you for all you have done and all that you will continue to do as you watch over us from above. Condolences to Craig's family and friends and those who worked by his side as either Trooper or Firefighter.

To the wife of Trooper Craig Todeschini,

I am so sorry for your tremendous loss. I completely understand what you're going through. My husband was shot on 4/23/05. I was 7 months pregnant at the time. I know that you're in a state of shock right now. It breaks my heart to know that someone else has to go through the same thing that I did. All your dreams were shattered in an instant. I know that when you go to the hospital to have your daughter all you'll be thinking of is what should have been. It will break your heart but when you see her for the first time you'll want to go on for her and for the memory of your husband. My son who is 9 1/2 months old now has given me a reason to live. Your daughter will do the same thing for you. You'll see things in her that will remind you of your husband. My son always reaches for his dad's picture and smiles. You may have an amazing experience in the hospital like I did. I was alone for the first time with my son and he was looking at something and had an amazed look on his face. They say that babies can't focus on objects that young but I swear he saw his dad. I can't tell you that the pain lessens with time but I do know that you will treasure the beautiful gift your husband left you. I will be thinking of you, your husband and your daughter. Your husband is a hero and will always be remembered.

To Trooper Craig Todeschini, his loved ones and his fellow officers in the New York State Police Dept.:

I was so saddened to learn of the tragic death of another young officer in the line of duty death that devastates all those who loved Craig.

May his family be comforted by the warm embrace of their law enforcement family, and other police survivors who share this painful journey with you.

To Craig, please know that your life is honored and revered today. Reading all the loving reflections left by those who cared for you gives us an understanding of what a good and honorable man you were and of the high esteem with which you are held.

My heart is with your family and you are all in our thoughts and our prayers. I share your agony. My youngest son was fatally shot pursuing two robbery suspects on April 23, 2005 although he was not pronounced brain dead until the following day. Another heartbreaking similarity between Craig and my son Larry is they left expectant wives. My grandson Cody was born in July of 2005 and he was christened this April 23rd at a remembrance service for Larry. I know that your Craig was as excited about the arrival of his daughter as Larry was about Cody's arrival. How heartbreaking that these special children will never feel their fathers' physical embrace, but I am sure that they will always be cherished parents through loving memories of their beloved wives and other family members.

Craig, you rescued us, saved our possessions, our lives and our families. You are one of the rare heroes among us. You were always there for us in the most traumatic moments of our lives. No matter when we called, we just expected that you would come and do whatever it took to help us, and you always met our expectations. Your selflessness and dedication are awe-inspiring.

This world, this country, your community truly are better places because of you. To have lost you is a great tragedy, an irreplaceable, immeasurable loss for society. We are grateful for and to you, and honor you for all you did for us day in and day out whether you received a word of thanks or praise.

Rest in Peace, Trooper Todeschini. I am so humbled by your valor and courage.

This reflection is sent with the utmost respect for the distinquished service Craig gave to his community and the citizens of New York, and for the supreme sacrifice he and his family made on April 23, 2006.

Lord,
He was yours to give,
and yours to call home,
please stand by his brothers,
so they don't feel alone,
dry the tears of his family,
so they clearly see:
that he gave his all,
so all could have peace.
Blessed are they,
the children of God,
with heavy hearts,
and honor - they trod,
to pay their respects,
to give their salute,
and to ask for your mercy,
on heroes in Blue.
Amen.

Craig, rest easy brother, we have the watch.
