"I have told you this so that my joy may be in you and that your joy may be complete. My command is this: Love each other as I have loved you. Greater love has no one than this, that he lay down his life for his friends. You are my friends if you do what I command." John 15:11-14

Rest easy Scott. You have fulfilled this command from your maker. Thanks for the example you set and the many memories you leave with us all.

Although I am always saddened to see a new name added to this list of fallen heroes, I got goosebumps when I read about Cpl. Severns. My brother was also the victim of an attempt armed robbery as he left a gas station. He never had the chance to pull his weapon, but it was found by one of the perpetrators, and the reason that he was killed.
My heart breaks for all those who knew and loved Cpl. Severns. This is certainly not an easy road to travel and I pray that his killer is appropriately punished for what he has taken from all of you.
Cpl. Severns, thank you for your dedication and sacrifice. You are a true hero. Rest in peace, sir.
