Reflections for Deputy Sheriff Joseph Tim Whitehead, Jr.

Day in and day out, as I watch over my officers, I pray to God that I will never have to deal with what the Bibb County Sheriff's Office is dealing with right now. As far as nightmares go, this is definitely my biggest one. I never had the privilege of knowing Deputy Whitehead, but from all the words that I am hearing he was an exceptional officer and was very well-loved by those who knew him and came in contact with him. These pages and pages of comments are a true testament to the kind of man he must have been. I know his family is in a lot of pain right now, but I also know that they must be very proud of the man he was. God Bless. You are all in my thoughts and prayers.

Always remember, Life is not measured by the number of breaths we take, but by the moments that take our breath away. God is still sitting on his throne and he is getting ready to bless you in a way that only He can. Keep the faith.

I will never forget the first day I say Deputy Whitehead, I was working out in the gym, when I say this huge guy wearing dreadlocks lifting weights. I leaned over and asked my wife, whose that guy, she said "Oh that's just Deputy Whitehead". I thought to myself "I'm glad I'm on this side of the law". His legacy and dedication will never be forgotten, he will be truly missed.

To his family just remember God is too wise to make a mistake and too just to do wrong. Look to the hills from which cometh your help, your help comes from thee.

Your death stings to the very reaches of our hearts. Anger is the first emotion we want to display. Vengence would ease the pain, but that wouldnt be what you wanted. Instead we will mourn, we will ask questions, then we will train. And train. We will do this so that your death will not be in vain! Rest easy, we have your watch!
