I am so saddened to learn of yet another loss of a young officer from the ranks of law enforcement. On behalf of our entire family, I extend our sincerest condolences on the grievous loss you suffered when Officer Ballard tragically died in the line of duty.

May you all be comforted and supported by the warm embrace of your law enforcement family, and other police survivors who share this painful journey with you.

I share his parent's anquish of having lost a child in the line of duty.
May God bring peace and comfort to you and to all of Kyle's loved ones.

Officer Ballard's valor and dedication will not be forgotten. To have served eight years by the time he was thirty-years-old was quite an accomplishment in itself.

This reflection is sent with the utmost respect for the years of distinquished service Officer Ballard gave to his community and citizens of California, and for the supreme sacrifice he and his family made on February 24, 2006.

Words can not say enough but, we mourn another hero that has been taken from us. If it was by accident or crimes against an officer it is a great loss. We will be praying for your family during these trying times. My deepest sympathy to the family, friends and co-workers. May the Lord give you strength and bless each of you during this time.
Remember these few verses from Psalm 23, The LORD [is] my shepherd; I shall not want. He maketh me to lie down in green pastures: he leadeth me beside the still waters. He restoreth my soul: he leadeth me in the paths of righteousness for his name's sake. Yea, though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil: for thou [art] with me; thy rod and thy staff they comfort me. Thou preparest a table before me in the presence of mine enemies: thou anointest my head with oil; my cup runneth over. Surely goodness and mercy shall follow me all the days of my life: and I will dwell in the house of the LORD for ever.

Officer Ballard, you're 8 years with the Pasadena Police Dept. left an impact. You had an effect on some lives you probably didn't even realize. You left an imprint on family, friends, brothers and sisters in blue and on your community. A small gesture of kindness to a citizen can have a ripple effect on all cops. A kind word to an elderly person or a street bum can give that person the dignity they may feel they lost. In your 8 years on the job, you probably made quite an impact. You'll contiune in spirit.

God Bless and Rest in Peace.
