Dan,
I'm sitting down at FLETC going through CITP, and they had your picture up on day 1. Cold chills went through me as I sat there looking at you; definitely puts the training in perspective. I can't believe you've been gone this long, but it almost seems sometimes like it was yesterday. Rest well; know you aren't forgotten!

I had the honor of serving with Dan in Cuba. It was clear from the first time I met him that he would move on to greater things. He was a true leader from a young age and accomplished much in his short life.

Dan you were always quiet. But your actions always showed me you were meant to be a leader. As young men you always stuck up for the little guy. You were always my friend. It wasn't till you were my roommate in Hawaii did i realize how much you were loved by others because you showed the characteristics of a young man who made sure all your friends were protected. And it was you who made sure we were okay. I miss you big Dan.

I served in Bonn Germany as an Embassy Marine with Dan back in 1996. Dan was the highest caliber of Marine, he was a strong leader and a fine young man. This Memorial Day (2013) I remember him, and the sacrifice of his family. I am eternally grateful for his service and his sacrifice. My family and I will always remember Dan, his memory will always be kept and honored. Semper Fidelis, Former Staff Sergeant of Marines, Kevin Chavez, USMC

The line of my people...
Back to the beginning.
'Lo, they do call to me.
They bid me take my place among them.

Hi Dan,

I was just sitting here tonight and you kind of popped into my mind. You really helped me through a rough patch and shone through as a mentor for us all early in our careers. I don't know if you realised the positive impact you had on those around you. You inspired me to be a better person and agent.

I miss you brother,
