If Heaven

If heaven was an hour, it would be twilight
When the fireflies start their dancin on the lawn
And suppers on the stove and mammas laughin
And everybodys workin day is done

If heaven was a town it would be my town
On a summer day in 1985
And everything I wanted was out there waiting
And everyone I loved was still alive

Chorus:
Dont cry a tear for me now baby
There comes a time we must all say goodbye
And if thats what heavens made of
You know I ain't afraid to die

If heaven was a pie it would be cherry
Cool and sweet and heavy on your tongue
And just one bite would satisfy your hunger
And thered always be enough for everyone

If heaven was a train it sure would be a fast one
That could take this weary traveler round the bend
And if heaven was a tear it'd be my last one
And youd be in my arms again

Chorus:
Dont cry a tear for me now baby
There comes a time we must all say goodbye
And if that's what heaven's made of
You know I ain't afraid to die

Another brother in blue has given the the ultimate sacrifice. It saddens me and my other brothers to hear of such a tragic, sensless, loss. We lay our lives on the line every day the minute we put on our uniforms, yet we give our all to protect and serve our communities across our great land. Officer Scott, you will never be forgotten, may God rest your soul and watch over your family and the CHP during these difficult times. Our prayers are with them. R.I.P Brother

R.I.P Officer Scott. My deepest condolences go out to the Scott family and the entire California Highway Patrol in their time of this great loss. Everyday that Officer Scott put on the uniform he put his life on the line, thanks for your service and dedication. May justice be swift and serve on those who committed this senseless act. I know you’ll be patrolling the streets up in heaven and we’ll see you again someday until then your fellow brothers will take it from here. You’re gone but will never be forgotten.

Officer Scott,
Thank you sir for your commitment to duty and honor. You have served the citizens of this state well. Rest easy knowing that we will all carry on the struggle in which you were a part of.
To Officer Scott's Family,
Although I only knew Earl in passing, he was no less a brother to me. He shared the same beliefs and fought the same fight. The Law Enforcement community in Stanislaus County will never be the same with his loss, but we will continue on and we will prevail. My thoughts and prayers are with you.
To the guys and gals of the Modesto Office of the CHP,
Know that you do not stand alone. You rallied behind us when we lost Howie last year and we shall rally behind you now. My thoughts and prayers are with you.
