To the family of Special Deputy Stephen Hahn,
I am so sorry for your loss. My husband was a Green Lake County Sheriff's Deputy and was shot and killed in 2003. I know the pain, the emptiness, the heartbreak you are feeling. May you feel God's embrace as you go through this extremely difficult time.

May you live forever in the hearts and minds of your immediate family as well as your extended family in blue.

I was very sad to see that another officer was killed in Wisconsin. My son Jay, a Special Agent with the Wisconsin Dept. of Justice, was killed in 2004. I had hoped that his would be the last line of duty death in Wisconsin. My heart and prayers are with you and your family, Mrs. Hahn. Your husband was a wonderful person to serve the citizens of Eau Claire for so many years. May he now rest in the peace that he so richly deserves. And may you know the caring and support of those of us who also walk this painful journey. If I can be of help to you in any way, please know that I am here for you. You can reach me through Wisconsin COPS.

Lord,
He was yours to give,
and yours to call home,
please stand by his brothers,
so they don't feel alone,
dry the tears of his family,
so they clearly see:
that he gave his all,
so all could have peace.
Blessed are they,
the children of God,
with heavy hearts,
and honor - they trod,
to pay their respects,
to give their salute,
and to ask for your mercy,
on heroes in Blue.
Amen.

Stephen, rest easy brother, we have the watch.

Words can not say enough but, we mourn another hero that has been taken from us. If it was by accident or crimes against an officer it is a great loss. We will be praying for your family during these trying times. My deepest sympathy to the family, friends and co-workers. May the Lord give you strength and bless each of you during this time.
Remember these few verses from Psalm 23, The LORD [is] my shepherd; I shall not want. He maketh me to lie down in green pastures: he leadeth me beside the still waters. He restoreth my soul: he leadeth me in the paths of righteousness for his name's sake. Yea, though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil: for thou [art] with me; thy rod and thy staff they comfort me. Thou preparest a table before me in the presence of mine enemies: thou anointest my head with oil; my cup runneth over. Surely goodness and mercy shall follow me all the days of my life: and I will dwell in the house of the LORD for ever.
