My prayers are with Officer Eric Solorio and his family. I feel their loss greatly, because I lost my brother also, Officer Benjamin Perez. While there are no words of comfort when there is so much pain, may his family find comfort in the happy memories he left behind. May they also find comfort knowing that he is at peace with our Lord. God Bless them all.

Eric is trully one of a kind, I'm sorry we didn't keep in touch after high school. I'm even more sorry that we have to be reunited like this. Eric was a great example of what a fun loving, yet focused young man should be.
To Eric's family, friends and our extended AQPS family, I wish you the strength to continue our mantra of Ora et Labora, just as Eric as exemplified here.

I come to this site almost every day to pay my respects to officers who have fallen around the country. Still, I am always deeply saddened when the loss is so close to home. So much is lost when an Officer is taken in the line of duty. To Officer Solorio, rest in peace, your brothers and sisters will take the watch from here. To Officer Solorio's family, may you take some comfort in knowing that so many people have you in their thoughts and prayers.

Thank you for your dedicated service to your community and your department. May the Lord bless you and keep you. May they never forget your faithful service to your community and department and the brave HERO that you were. To the family, friends and co-workers, our heartfelt prayers and sympathies are with you. May God be with you all during this very sorrowful time. Words will never compensate the loss you have suffered. We pray that He now gives you all strength in your time of need. May you find peace in the thought, that we as friends in law enforcement, take this time to lift you up in prayer.

For your act of unselfish bravery and courage Officer Solorio, we salute you. Blessed are the peacemakers.

Meeting you at 17, seeing us grow up from teens through college then adulthood...
I had to say goodbye to you today. Had I known that evening in November that it would be the last time I'd ever see you, I would have hugged you an extra 50 times. Every encounter I have with an officer- I will give him or her the highest of respect,in your honor and for your mother. Thank you for your time in Chicago and for always making me feel special.
I will never forget you.

every now and then i catch my dad writing a reflection for other officers and it makes me scared to think the worst for my dad. but every day when i leave he tells me i love you and times like these make me think how empty i would be without my dad. when my dad lost his friend, he said that dying was a part of life and that one day everybody will be together in heaven. i hope that you watch over your family, they will know that you found your way to heaven and that you'll be waiting for them when they arrive. your family is not alone and im sure they feel better knowing that youre rejoicing in heaven, and not suffering here on earth. so please watch over my dad and the rest of the chicago police department. GOD bless you and keep you.
