There are those that hold the line. Those that rush in where others flee. Those that step between the evil and the good to shield the innocent. They do this as instinct. Without a thought. It's not a choice, it's a calling. A destiny. They are Hero's. Your one of them John. Forever.

"...why do you like them so much?"

"Because they hold the line. Stand the wall. Say NOTHING is going to hurt you tonight. Not on my watch."

KWPD Officer

GOD HAS CALLED YOU HOME, AND HE WILL EASE YOUR FAMILY'S SUFFERING AND GIVE THEM STRENGTH IN KNOWING THAT YOU HAVE ACCOMPLISHED SO MUCH IN YOUR YOUNG LIFE THAT MANY COULD ONLY DREAM ABOUT. YOU WERE NOT CALLED HOME IN VAIN BUT RATHER TO GIVE OTHERS INSPIRATION & DRIVE TO LIVE THEIR LIVES TO THE FULLEST, BE THE BEST THEY CAN BE AND LOVE AND CHERISH THEIR FAMILIES JUST AS YOU HAVE DONE. GOD BLESS YOU, YOUR YOUNG SON, AND YOUR FAMILY. YOUR PASSING HAS AFFECTED NOT ONLY YOUR BROTHERS AND SISTERS @ KWPD, BUT THEIR FAMILIES AS WELL; WIVES, MOTHERS, FATHERS, CHILDREN. THIS TRULY HITS "HOME", AND PUTS (your) THEIR MANY SCARIFICES INTO LIGHT AS THEY WALK OUT OF OUR HOMES WEARING THEIR BLUES. GO WITH GOD.

A couple years ago my wife and other friends from the FWPD took a cruise that brought us to Key West. The Officers were fantastic. I see that you were the "rule" for the PD rather than the exception. You can be proud. God Bless you John while you patrol your new beat.

John:
You left us suddenly without saying good bye and you didn't have a chance to show us all how great a detective you would have been; but you did show us how exemplary all police officers should be from your example. I'll miss working details with you and send sincere condolences to your family and dear friends.

The one thing I will always remember about John was his love of his job. You could imagine him jumping out of bed every day to come to work. He was excellent at what he did. I will miss so many things about him but his smile is what I seem to remember most. He was always smiling. I am still in shock over what has happened. I will miss you John.
