It's been a little over two years since we met at the academy but I am glad I was a part of that class with you and the rest. I got the news around 830 today and the first memory was of your wife and kids visiting you during training. You were the chaplian of our class and I know your faith now has you resting with the Lord. Thank you, Matt for all that you did. May the Lord bless your family, friends and the Department during our time of sorrow and loss.

My most heartfelt condolences to the family, friends and fellow officers of Trooper Myrick. You are all in my thoughts and prayers.

Mrs. Myrick, I share your agony. I lost my husband 10 months ago in the line of duty, and am left to raise two children on my own. This is an incredibly painful journey that we never expected to take. I pray for you, that you will have the strength and courage to get through this. Hold on tight to your little ones; their daddy is their guardian angel now and will be with them always, in everything they do. He will be with you always, also, and will help guide and protect you as you continue on without him.

Trooper Myrick, thank you for your service and sacrifice. May God bless you and may you rest in peace, Blue Angel.
