To the wife and children of Officer May, his family, co-workers and friends. My deepest sympathy and thoughts and everyday prayers go out to you. We can only be at peace knowing that the monster that took his life will have to answer to his maker. Richard gave the ultimate sacrifice, by protecting our community, like they all do when they put on their unform so proudly and go off to work. As a officers wife I pray for my husband to come home to me and our children everyday, and I include all police officers and their loved ones in my prayers. We all know it takes a special individual to be a officer. Richard and God will be with you now through the tough times and forever. We are blessed that we had Richard patroling our streets and now he is patroling the streets of Heaven. An outstanding officer with wings. Please always let your children know what a special father they have watching over them, and to always be proud of what he did. I only hope you can find peace, knowing that Richard is with the angels now. He is with all his fellow officers that are wearing their badges and their wings proudly. God be with you!

We are so sorry to here about your tragic loss of a loved one in law enforcement. Our thoughts and prayers go out to you in support. As we personally know, sometimes there is little comfort that comes from words. Keep focused as you can on the memories and joyous times for these things may bring you comfort. Rely heavily on family, friends, and other law enforcement. Honor your fallen loved one, for their sacrifice will not be forgotten.
