Leave a Reflection

Reflections for Officer Richard Allen May, Jr.

My sympathies to your family and colleagues, my daughter aged 7, asked me why this had happened, I had no answers to give that could make sense.

Rich,

Brother it has been two weeks now since Alberto Alberez took you away from your wife and children. This all still seems like a dream and I think your going to walk into the briefing room tomorrow and greet me like you always do "Whats up Fraydog". Damn that will be missed. And to remember all of the little arguments we would have were I would walk away thinking I was right, yet still doing what your suggested even though you didn't know it. Damn Rich you are sorely missed and I will never forget you. I will make sure you are NOT forgotten in this city.

Love You Brother
Brian

God bless you, Officer May. Your courage and supreme sacrifice will not be forgotten. May the Lord bless your family and friends...

This is my shield
I bear it before me into battle
But, it is not mine alone
It protects my brother on my left
It protects my city on my right
I will never let my brother out of it's shadow,
nor my city out of it's shelter
If I die, my shield will be before me,
facing the enemy.
