Ethan - Your memory still lives so strong today. I used to take TJ's job for granted and I thank God everyday that he spares TJ's life while on duty. Thank you for your service. Your sacrifice has made me more grateful and receptive to the job of being a police officer. To all Law Enforcement, thank YOU for your service.

I only met Deputy Collins a few times while I served as a special deputy; however, his warm and caring personality shined every time you met him. The world may have lost a hero but heaven gained another angel. I feel safer knowing that fallen officers like Ethan are watching over me. My prayers are with Deputy Collins' loved ones, family, friends and fellow officer.

I remember Ethan from going to school with him. With hundreds of people in our school Ethan always stood out. He could brighten up a room with his smile and laughter. He will be missed by all who knew him, and I am glad to have had the chance to have met him. My prayers are with Ethan's family, friends, and fellow officers.

Ethan, I remember playing together in Elementary School, camping together in Boyscouts, and just hanging out together in High School. I also remember both of us dreaming of one day working in Law Enforcement. I remember that when we both began working at the Sheriff's Office how much you loved your job but even more you loved your family and how proud you were of them. I remember sitting for hours talking about life, our wives and children, calls that we had been on, and how lucky we both were. And I remember working with you the night that you lost your life doing what you loved to do. Helping other people. That night has replayed a thousand times in my mind. Your loss has been difficult for everyone on the shift to bear but we all know that your watching over us. My son Collin is now five and Friday I took him to your grave sight. He soluted you and told you how brave you are. That was one of the hardest things I have ever done. I just want you to know how proud I am of you and that even though you are gone you will never be forgotten. It gives us all comfort to know that you are now our gaurdian angel. Well take it from here. rest in peace unit 268.

Dearest Collins family,
I was watching a show tonight that mentioned the death of your beloved Ethan, and I just wanted to tell you how sorry I am for your loss.
Please know that there are so many people around this great country, that are thinking of you and praying for you during this difficult time, everyday. You are never far from our thoughts, Kylie, Madison and Hayden.
I pray that with each passing day, that your hurt will lessen more and more, and your love for Ethan, will only grow stronger and stronger.
He is watching over you and he loves you very much. God Bless each and everyone of you.
Take care,

As I stop at your grave it is still hard to think I'll never see you again.Every time I have a chance I stop here to let you know you are still remembered. We still go on every day doing the job that most people couldn't think about doing. I drive by your house...I think of what you and the family would be doing. It's hard to look into Kylies face, even now I think of the horror my wife and young daughter would go through if "it was me".I miss the stories we shared about our kids...the ups and downs of being in our job and trying to maintain a somewhat normal family life. At least once a day someone brings up your name or a story about you...and usually it's something we laugh at.We still have a heavy heart...and yet we go on to another roll call without you being there...until next time my brother.

I WENT TO SCHOOL WITH ETHAN YEARS AGO. WE MOVED TO LOGAN AND I DIDN'T SEE HIM AGAIN UNTIL I BEGAN WORKING AT BIG BEAR. BOY, WHAT A LONG TIME AGO! WHEN ETHAN AND I WERE IN SCHOOL, WE DIDN'T HANG OUT IN THE SAME CROWD, BUT WHEN I STARTED WORKING WITH HIM I GOT A CHANCE TO KNOW HIM. HE DIDN'T CARE THAT I WASN'T A PART OF HIS GROUP, HE DIDN'T CARE. HE TREATED ME THE SAME AS EVERYONE ELSE. ETHAN AND I WERE NOT VERY CLOSE, BUT WHEN I HEARD OF THE ACCIDENT MY HEART JUST WENT OUT TO HIS FAMILY AND CLOSE FRIENDS. I HAVE A HUSBAND AND TWO WONDERFUL LITTLE GIRLS, I CAN'T IMAGINE WHAT IT WOULD BE LIKE TO LOSE MY HUSBAND. HE IS SADLY MISSED!
