Reflections for Police Officer Shawn Carson

I was deeply saddened to read the memorials for Officer Shawn Carson and his partner. I know of no words that will suffice.
I would like for the families, friends and co-workers of these two officers to know that there are folks all across this country that will lift them up in prayer before the Almighty.
May you sense His presence during this difficult time.

Having served, I well know the dangers facing our officers who all to often lose their lives in the service of their cities and counties. Your loss is truly the nations loss because they were there to Protect and to Serve all who live in, and visit, your city. My true prayers to our Lord Jesus Christ have gone up to Him for Shawns family and grieving department. God bless you all.

My heart goes out to Officer Carson's family and to the Jersey City Police in regards to his unexpected death. His fate ended up being a freak accident that led up to his death, and we never know how and when we will depart this world. I hope the family continues to remember this officer's bravery and courage. Officer Carson your shift is over now, we will take it from here. Rest in peace, brother...

At the beginning of every shift I supervise, myself and the other officers on shift dedicate the day to the memory of a fallen officer.

Tonight, December 26, 2005 we dedicated the shift to the memory of Police Officer Robert Nguygen and Police Officer Shawn Carson who died in the line of duty just yesterday.

When one law enforcement officer falls, we all stumble for a while, but we will carry on.

Officer's Nguygen & Carson’s sacrifice will never be forgotten.

We gather today to remember,
the sacrifices our loved ones have made.
We will never forget those loved ones,
and the terrible price they have paid.
Their courage, dedication and professionalism
will forever be alive in our hearts.
May God, in His infinite power,
help to mend those broken parts.
There is no greater pain,
then the loss of those we love,
But we pray you will find inner strength,
with guidance from the Lord above.
It's a very tough journey you are faced with,
but together we can all make it through.
So, we gather today to remember, and share
the love for "Our Heroes in Blue.
"We know they are watching us now,
and so proud that you're all here.
They would like to see smiles not sadness;
see hope in your eyes not fear.
They are at peace with the Lord up in heaven,
and they would like us to be at peace too.
They know in their hearts how we miss them,
and they want you to know they miss you.
May you all find some solace in knowing,
that in God's eyes, they did not die in vain.
They gave their lives doing a job they believe in,
and it hurts them to see you in pain.
So as we pray for those loved ones we lost,
They would like us to pray too;
For the brave men and women still out there,
their Brothers and Sisters in Blue.

Words alone cannot express my deepest sense of regret and sadness as to the lost life of this officer and his partner.
Anytime a centurion of law and order loses his/her life, I am moved to tears, but at this time of year and on Christmas day itself, makes this even tougher to accept.
Courage and strength to these officers' families and colleagues with the Jersey City PD left behind.
