You have our deepest sympathy in the loss Corporal Joseph Pokorny. A family lost a father, a department lost a dedicated officer and America lost a protector. Rest in Peace.

As a midnight dispatcher, I stress the importance of calling in traffic stops to all my officers, particularly the young ones. I am diligent about status checks, sometimes to their dismay, particularly if they are still writing. The tragic death of Corporal Pokorny illustrates all too well there is no such thing as a "routine" traffic stop. My heartfelt condolences to all who knew him. May he rest in peace.

My thoughts and prayers go out to your family and the Pennsylvania State Police. Rest easy troop.. We've got the watch.

Im am so sad after reading about Corporal Pokorny's death. To die alone for a routine pullover is beyond belief. The only consulation is that they have his killer. To Corporal Pokorny's family my greatest love to you all, be strong, and know he is with you always.
