I want the fiance and family of Deputy Sheriff Oliff to know that they are in my prayers.

My husband and I attended the funeral of Officer Hank Nava. From what I have read, Jason Oliff was a great officer and a joy to be around. It is so sad that we've had another fallen soldier, and I do mean soldier.

As an officer's wife, I have a great respect and admiration for the job and am saddened when we loose a "good one".

Keep your faith in the Lord and remember the love that the entire law enforcement family has for you.

God bless.

Jason you were on of the best friend s I have ever known, through out the academy you were there to help anyone that needed it. The world has lost one of the few good people that are left. You for sure left your mark on others and will never be forgotten. My prayers are with Holly and all of your family.

Jason.... My friend,Brother and comrade how will I get through without talking to you at work. You always gave me some good advice that would help me when I needed it. I will never forget or let anyone else forget you or the light that burnt bright inside of you. I will never forget our days at the golf course and the fun we had at C.C.'s house. I'm sorry this is hard. I know I don't have to say this because you know it already. I love you Brother and the guys from the NorthEnd Rattle Posse do too. I will miss you. Don't worry about us because we will get by. We'll stand tall taking down crime, because we know you are standing over our shoulder's watching our backs. Remember to save a seat for your Brothers in that patrol car in the sky, for one day we will be reunited. Goodbye Brother.

It seems that the phrase "Only the good die young" really rings true, Unfortunately, another department has to experience this...after reading the reflections left on this site, you get the feeling that Jason was a much loved person, and a good hearted person. You have to figure that God needed him more in heaven than he did down here, as he did most recently with Paul and the others we've lost these past few years. To his fiancee, our hearts are with you, and you will always be in our prayers. To the Oliff family and the eintire Brazoria County Department, live the life that Jason would have wanted you to live...he will be watching you and protecting you.

God Bless.

Jason, Like others I don't know where to start to explain to others the goodness, dedication and loyality in you heart and soul. We worked together for many years in the jail Jason. You always had a smile and could always make me laugh, and when I was down you were there to lean on and listen. You were always there for your friends and co-workers no matter the situation. I remember when you told me you had finally made it to the Patrol Division. The only time you had smiled bigger than that was when you would talk about Holly. I was so proud for you to see all your dreams coming true in life! You have made many many friends among us!! To know you was to love you. I don't know if I will ever understand this. Apparently God has other plans for you and needs you for other things. You have become an angel in God's Patrol above us all. I never had the pleasure of meeting the love of your life, Holly, though I feel like I know you Holly. He always talked about you. We all have our special memories of you and the goodness you left with us. I would like to share one, but there are many more. You remember when you asked me if you could get a woman's point of view to figure out what to get Holly for one Christmas. We talked and talked and I finally asked you, "Well have you asked her what she wanted". You said no, you wanted to surprise her, but you ended up asking her anyway. After christmas I asked you what you had ended up giving her? You told me a cookbook, I laughed and told you, you don't get a women a cookbook for a present. But then you told me, well you told me to ask her and that's what Holly said she wanted. Then I told you, well then, you did good young one. You were dedicated to Holly, your family and your job. I consider it an honor and a pleasure to have worked along side of you friend! As the tears fall I can smile at the same time as I remember you. You will be so missed, but I promise you, YOU WILL NEVER BE FORGOTTEN!! You have moved on to a more important mission and patrol with God. We will take it from here for now down here below, till we join you later on the streets of gold. So this isn't really goodbye, this is "till later".

To Holly & Family, For us that worked along side of him was an honor and a pleasure. I am so very sorry for your loss. I know there are no words that can take away the pain. We are all here for you and are praying for you through this time of need and beyond. I know you are very proud of him, as you should be. He was a true Hero among us and a role model to all. He made a difference in this world. I know there are no words to ease the pain but I hope the memories of him left behind with all of us will help ease the pain. As the tears fall, remember all the good memories he left. God Bless you and be with you always.

Life here on Earth is all about making Memory`s, and in that regard Jason you have created many cherished moments for your Family, Friends, and Especially the Love of your Life Holly. We will all Sincerely miss you Jason, but on this last Call in Life here on Earth you have been dispatched to a much Safer place. The first time I rode along with you as a civilian rider I witnessed the Dedication & Care you served to the residents in Brazoria County, and you were also always there to back up your fellow Deputy`s in time of need whether dispatched or not.Jason you are truly an example that all of us here remaining should strive to follow so we can make this a greater place to live as you did.I know your in Heaven looking down on us with that little Smile you always had on your face that will forever be Remembered. One by one we will all join you Jason,so until then Thanks again for all the Good Time`s & Memory`s.

I had the honor of working with Deputy Oliff on the north end of Brazoria County. I specifically remember Deputy Oliff stopping by on several calls and traffic stops with me just to check on my safety or to see if he could assist me in any way. Deputy Oliff was a true “brother in blue!” There are no words to ease the pain for the loss of a close friend or family member. My condolences and prayers go out to the men and women of the Brazoria County Sheriff’s Department as well as Deputy Oliff’s friends and family. It was an honor having the opportunity to work with you and we shall meet again! You will truly be missed.

Even though you are gone, you will never be forgotten. We got to work side by side on several calls and I know that I speak for the officers at APD and especially Midnight shift when I say that you will be missed. To all the deputies at the Brazoria County Sheriff's Department, you were there when we lost one of ours, Officer Daryn Holland, and now we will be there for you.

Jason...... where do I start? What can I say to try and make sense of your tragic death? There's no sense in it. Just when everything was falling in to place for you, it all came crashing down in one unexpected moment. I guess I can tell you now what I should of told you when we talked Monday morning. You're one of the best friends I ever had.... and I love you brother. "The Three Dogs" picture, for example. Whoever it was that posted that in the patrol office could clearly see that we had a strong bond between us.... we always will. Your personality and big heart is what's needed more in this world. It was always so amazing to me that with all the hate and ugliness that we see on a day to day basis, you're still as kind and untouched by it as you were when I met you. On more than one occasion you would listen to me talk about buying a new golf club and I knew you wanted a new set of Calloway Irons. Instead, you and Holly would spend your money on supplies to Katrina victims, or our soldiers in Iraq and encourage us all to do the same. You literally cared more for others than yourself. I'm very proud to say that you were my partner, and my best friend. You were a spiritual role model for what we all should have inside of us but most of us seldom do. Now your gone from all of our lives, but you leave me with more than you could ever know. I tried to teach you details about patrol and in return you taught me to be a better person. Thank you. Please don't worry about Holly, I know she's your soulmate. You have my word that we'll always be looking over her for you. Please don't worry about Tim, he's our brother now, and we'll be there for him always. Please don't worry about your family, because they are a part of our family now and we will look after them as well. Please don't worry about us either. You were our brightest northern star and our brother, and we'll be there for each other now, just like you were always there for us. You know on Wednesday, when I saw Tim drive the ball with your driver, and putt a birdie with your putter, I felt like you were with us. It was the first time I felt like I may be alright. I will never forget what was said while we stood over your lifeless body in the hospital. Ronnie said "Jason would forgive the man that killed him". You know what, I know you would. I hope that enough of your goodness has rubbed off on me so that one day... maybe... I can to.

Lord,
He was yours to give,
and yours to call home,
please stand by his brothers,
so they don't feel alone,
dry the tears of his family,
so they clearly see:
that he gave his all,
so all could have peace.
Blessed are they,
the children of God,
with heavy hearts,
and honor they trod,
to pay their respects,
to give their salute,
and to ask for your mercy,
on heroes in Blue.

Jason, rest easy brother, we have the watch.
