To Nava Family and FWPD Officers,

I would like to express my deepest heartfelt sympathies to you all. Hank died a hero and we are all in debt to him for fighting the good fight and his supreme sacrifice. It makes me proud to think of heroes like Hank everytime I put my uniform on.

I pray that god with send down his angels to comfort you all and lift you up in this time of need. Hank will never be forgotten and will always be remembered as a fine police officer, father and husband. It will not be easy, but god will see you through.

Blessed are the peacemakers for they will be called sons of god.

This poem was posted on an e-group and I kept it in memory of my grandfather who was a beat cop in Richmond Ind. I remembered it when I read Officer Nava's story. Your family will be in my prayers.

"A PART OF AMERICA DIED TODAY

Somebody killed a policeman today and,
a part of America died.
A piece of our country he swore to protect
will be buried with him at his side.
The suspect who shot him will stand up in court,
with council demanding his rights.
While a young widowed mother must work for her kids,
and stand many, long lonely nights.
The beat that he walked was a battlefield too,
just as if he'd gone off to war.
Though the flag of our nation won't fly at half mast,
to his name they will add a gold star.
Yep, somebody killed a policeman today,
in your town or mine.
While we slept in comfort behind our locked doors,
an officer put his life on the line.
Now his ghost walks a beat on a dark city street,
and he stands at each new rookie's side.
He answered the call, of himself gave his all,
and a part of America has died."

Hank: I did not know you very well even though I lived around the corner from you. I am now a dispatcher from Explorer where I first actually talked to you. I can not express how much paine i feel for you and especially for Teresa, Kaylee and Justin. I am so sad and angry of what happened. No One deserves what you endured. I was always told that you were a fighter and you demonstrated it.

TO THE FAMILY:
I am so very sorry. The Whole Communications Division is in deep pain. We Are all the Officers Family When they put thier uniform on and they come to work.

I will miss you very much Hank and hope that you rest in eternal peace. Watch Down on all Officers and be thier protector.

Just thought you would also like to know the Citizens of Fort Worth Will also miss you very much. I got stopped by citizens several times inquiring about you. They were very saddened.

Again thanks for being a good nieghbor and i will always remember you.
