Reflections for Officer Henry "Hank" Nava, Jr.

No words can heal the hurt or pain. But we can lift up this fine officer and the family in prayer. We regret your loss and will remember him.

Dear Mrs. Nava,
My thoughts and prayers are with you and your family as you grieve the loss of your husband. His courage and dedication made this world a better place to live. May he now rest in the arms of the Creator.

To Mrs. Nava
Thank you for your sacrifice. I am so sorry for your loss. I can't imagine your pain and that of your children. Thank you for allowing your husband to protect us, I would be to selfish to risk losing my husband in such a terrible way. I am so proud of you and all of the other wives and mothers who have sleepless nights, worry filled days, and are too often left with nothing but happy memories and our gratitude. That is a poor substitute for a warm bed and the arms of your husband. When I kiss mine tonight I will think of your loss and be selfishly grateful I don't know how you must feel. I will pray for you and your family. Please know that while officers and their families rarely hear it until a time like this, we are always grateful for men and women like you and your husband. May he rest in peace.

Lord,
He was yours to give,
and yours to call home,
please stand by his brothers,
so they don't feel alone,
dry the tears of his family,
so they clearly see:
that he gave his all,
so all could have peace.
Blessed are they,
the children of God,
with heavy hearts,
and honor they trod,
to pay their respects,
to give their salute,
and to ask for your mercy,
on heroes in Blue.

Hank, rest easy brother, we have the watch.

On behalf of all of us, we are truly sorry, a great officer has been taken from us all.

My condolences to Teresa, KayLeigh and Justin. Your husband and father gave the ultimate price for being a police officer. I do not know you but my heart weeps for you and the children. Hank seemed just like any other man just trying to do a job he loves and provide for his family. Please remember you are all in my prayers and may God take you in his arms and give you the strenght that you need. I am also a Mom with 2 sons Ricky 22 & Steven 19. And Steven wants to become a police officer or a paramedic. I have encouraged this because he is such a people person and he loves to get the bad guys and help people. He watched the funeral with me and big tears came to his eyes as he said, "Justin & KayLeigh will never get to see their Daddy again until they meet in heaven."

Take care and know many, many, many people are praying for you and your children and know "Hank" was a hero to us all!

Much love from Rowlett, Texas,
Angela Glazier & my 2 sons Ricky & Steven

Fallen Brother"

As I held him close, I began to cry
Wondering and hoping our friend would never die
I could see the whites of his eyes, as he held me tight
The wind whisked through his hair, as we saw the light

He cried no more as we fell to the ground
His one single tear, would never be found
Cry not my friend God will take you home
The Angels in Heaven will not be alone

You're safe and well as a child to his mother

You will always be remembered as
OUR FALLEN BROTHER

my heart goes out to teresa, his two children and his extended family at the fort worth police...although i live outside of dallas, it doesn't mean that his loss is any less for not being in the city in which i live...i know people get mad when they're stopped for speeding, but i'm always glad that they "have our back"...he sounds like a very nice man and good policeman...again, i'm so sorry for your loss...and i hope you can find comfort and solace in the love that surrounds you, whether it be family or a stranger like me...

Through the years, my relationship with Hank had always been on a professional level, periodically meeting on calls. I enjoyed our meetings and noticed Hank's interest and dedication to his job. In the past year or so, we worked a lot closer and almost daily as we were based out of the same station but in different units. During that time, I grew to see that Hank's decency towards people came out of a basic goodness inside of him. He treated people with respect, not just victims but also witnesses and suspects. Thank you Lord for giving me the wisdom, to stop Hank a few weeks ago in the parking lot of our station and to compliment him on being a good police officer and especially in how he related to the citizens. God speed Hank.
