Seriously brings a tear to the eye, especially knowing his children will have to grow up without him. I am especially bothered by the fact that the person responsible will get to live a full life in conditions much better than many third world countries. At the very least, he should be put to work in some manner every day and those $$ earned returned to the family.

On my 5th tour myself and Det Stewart were sitting in the muster room of 78 pct, as we did many times before, as his partner was processing a DWI arrest. We talked of the past Thanksgiving holiday and I course police work. We left off as usual with the usual farewell, be safe out there and called it a night. I woke up the next day to find he had been murdered. It showed me how vulnerable we truly are. A true professional and shining light in the NYPD that can never be replaced. Rest in peace my brother in blue.
