It is tragic that another officer has lost their life in the line of duty, but you gave your life doing your duty. There is no greater gift that you could have given. God's Speed Dillon and God Bless your family for their loss. Be proud of him Family; he died serving his community and his country. He too was a soldier and should be remembered as such. My prayers are with you.

I was horribly saddened by the news of Dillon's death today. I was lucky enough to have worked with him on the midnights for a few years before leaving the 70. I remember him as a happy, easy going and genuine nice guy. A terrible loss for the NYPD, the people of nyc, but most importantly his family who is left behind. Heartfelt condolences to his family. Rest in peacefully in heaven, Dillon

My father and two of my uncles are retired from the NYPD. As I carry on the tradition as a cop in VA, I greatly mourn the loss of Officer Stewart. We may have never met, but he protected the streets where I was born in raised, and for that I am thankful. We have lost 3 officers here in the past 6 weeks. As I am still trying to cope with the loss of one of the rookies I trained (Officer M.K.Saffran E.O.W. 10/08/05) I will also greatly mourn the loss of Officer Stewart who gave his life to protect the greatest city in the world. I wish his family, fellow officers and friends the strength they need to get through this horrible time in their lives. You are in my thoughts and prayers!! I wish to extend my deepest gratitude to Officer Stewart's family for sharing their hero with us and making him ours. G-d bless Officer Stewart, his family, friends and the City Of New York!! We have the watch now brother, rest in peace.
