Reflections for Sheriff Edgar Leary

No passage of time will ever erase your service and sacrifice and may you always rest in peace knowing that your fellow law enforcement will always remember and thank you.

Edgar Learys grave sits 10 yrds below my mother's headstone in the Helena Cemetery on our small plot. Growing up i heard from my grandfather Joe Carver the stories of my great great grand father and great great uncle Bud and Fate Elder and how they all died in the line of duty as lawmen. After yrs of his headstone being on our plot and not being able to read the name we used peroxide to wash it until we could finally make out the name. It was Edgar Leary. All those generations we never knew who that lone headstone belonged to. As a former lawman myself it's an honor to be part of upkeeping his resting place. Rest easy Sheriff.
