Reflections for Police Officer Courtney Lamont Dickerson

Courtney,
I want to thank you for being there for me when times got rough. I knew that I could always call on you for anything and you would always respond,no matter what the situation was. I'm so very thankful that I met you when I did and we became good friends. There was a lot of fun times shared together. You were considered the brother that I never had.

We are so sorry to here about your tragic loss of a loved one in law enforcement. Our thoughts and prayers go out to you in support. As we personally know, sometimes there is little comfort that comes from words. Keep focused as you can on the memories and joyous times for these things may bring you comfort. Rely heavily on family, friends, and other law enforcement. Honor your fallen loved one, for their sacrifice will not be forgotten.

To the family of Officer Dickerson:
I was so sorry to hear of your loss- I heard about it on the news since although in different states, we aren't that far apart. It breaks my heart that he had to go at such a young age, so early in his career, and especially to leave behind a little son. Keep his Daddy real to him by talking freely about him and keeping pictures out. But never forget that he has a big family of Law Enforcement Officers, and a Daddy watching over him!
The thing that hurts the most about this is that it occurred on the first anniversary of my Daddy's death. On the news that night, your Officer's death and my Daddy's were in the same broadcast. Now 11/11 will be a hard day for you, too- a reminder of what we've lost. If there is any thing I can do, you can reach me through the Forsyth County Sheriff's Office, NC. As I said, we don't live that far apart!
Take care and God Bless you!

God be with the family and police community. It is a hard thing to go through, we just lost one of our men in blue the beginning of Oct and it is something you never want to hear or think about. God be with his wife, child, mother father, siblings and all. Be with those dispatcher working that day and his co-workers. That is something I dont wish for anyone to have to go through.
