Constable McBride was my great-grandfather. My grandfather--the son mentioned in the obituary and one of my favorite people ever--was just 6 years old when he lost his father. He ended up having to quit school after 6th grade to support the family. A carpenter by trade, he went on to make a good career for himself at Humble Oil, now Exxon. I had always heard this basic story as family lore, but am glad to find details that are missing from our family records. (I found this web site while researching family history to help my own son with a school project.) Thank you, Constable McBride, for your service.

Your heroism and service is honored today, the 103rd anniversary of your death. Your memory lives and you continue to inspire. Thank you for your service. My cherished son Larry Lasater was a fellow police officer who was murdered in the the line of duty on April 24, 2005 while serving as a Pittsburg, CA police officer.

Time never diminishes respect. Your memory will always be honored and revered.
