Reflections for Patrolman John Randolph Wheeler

Kim, I was thinking about my dad tonight, and I came across John's page. I miss my dad and I hardly knew him. There are no words to describe the tears you have shed. I prayed for you and your family and know these men will always be in our memories.

It would have been your 43rd Birthday today.

Not a day goes by that I don't think of you and remember all that we shared. Happy Birthday Baby...I know the celebration is still going on in Heaven, and I pray daily to be showered with your love. Through faith I know you are still watching over me with the spirit of others who surround you now.
I will always honor you and make you proud
Love, Kim

John - You were a great friend and neighbor. We watched our girls grow up together for nearly twelve years. I am sitting in Iraq right now and something made me think of you and Kim. My heart goes out to your family; I wish I could have been there to support them through this tragedy. I had planned on coming back to San Antonio this year and visit the old stomping grounds, it won't be the same without you and Kim there. I know you are in a better place now; maybe we'll live across the street from each other when it's my time. Kim - You are a strong women. I know the last few years have been difficult for you. If you ever need anything, please let me know. Take care and God be with you. Love your friend, Dawn

A year ago today I lost my best friend. You were the one I chose to grow old with, the one God chose to grow stronger with every day. Now that you are gone I am only left with one truth. Time has no meaning, and it feels like just yesterday you were holding my hand. A year has passed, but our memories together will last me a lifetime. Thank you for those memories, and I'll see you in God's time. Love your ruu, Kim

My thoughts are with your loved ones on this first anniversary of your end of watch. You have been in your loved ones thoughts every hour of every day this past year. You have not been forgotten nor will that ever be the case as you are a true hero and heroes never die. Keep watch over your loved ones as they journey through life. Also, keep watch over those still out on patrol

John...I will always remember the "fun" times we all had together. Everytime I look at the pink stool, I think about you sitting there telling stories. I am so glad that your "in-law" family got to know you...really know you. You were and will always be my hero. I hope you knew how much I loved you and I will never forget you. You will always be "my son". Thank you for taking care of our daughter, Kim. She loves you so much and you omade her so happy. You are the shining star!

I just received a phone call from a long lost Air Force friend. During the conversation, he informed me of Johns passing. I worked with John at Bergstrom Air Force Base(TX) for quite a while, and I will always have fond memories of him. To say that I was shocked to hear of his passing would be an understatement. John was a true hero, and I'll miss him. May God Bless John and his family.
