Reflections for Police Officer Robin G. Vogel

The boys and I are reading another book about losing loved ones. We think of you and talk about you every day. I miss being able to laugh with you over the new Justinisms and Matthewisms. While life does go on, it's still very hard when a piece of your heart has been broken. We all love you and miss you very much!!

On todays date, the First Responder Unit of the U.S. Capitol Police honored Officer Vogel's service during roll call by reading her entry from ODMP. Each day, we honor one fallen officer on the anniversary of their death so as to keep them in our thoughts, and also to remind us of the dangers inherent in our job.

Thank you, Officer Vogel, for your service. I sought out your page after reading an encouraging note from your sister on another officer's page. It speaks highly of both you and her that she can take that love for you and missing you and channel it into helping others who are going through the same thing. I know you are remembered by your family and friends, but you are also remembered by those of us who didn't have the privilege to know you but appreciate you just the same.

Friday was the 3 year anniversary of one of the worst days of our lives. While we shed tears and felt pain in our broken hearts, we celebrated you and your life. You go on in our memories every day. Love and miss you. You will never be forgotten!

To Officer Robin Vogel and her loved ones:

On this the third anniversary of your tragic death, please know that your memory is honored and revered today.

This world, this country, your community truly are better places because of you. To have lost you is a great tragedy, an irreplaceable, immeasurable loss for your family and society. We are grateful for and to you, and honor you for all you did for us day in and day out whether you received a word of thanks or praise.
Rest in Peace, Officer Vogel. I am so sorry that you were robbed of your life at such a young age.

This reflection is sent with the utmost respect for the distinquished service Officer Vogel gave to her community and the citizens of Illinois, and for the supreme sacrifice she and her family made on October 3, 2005.

Can't beleive it's been 3 years since you left us. I think of you daily, but today is especially hard. I stopped by the cemetery about a month ago (but i'm sure you know that). It was wonderful to see all the pretty flowers and keepsakes - knowing you are still so loved. Miss you so much.

Love always,

Happy Birthday Little Cop Girl - Chicken Enchiladas and Margaritas were consumed in your honor! We should have been able to celebrate your big 40 together like we planned - but I'm sure you and the other angels partied in the clouds. Words cannot express how much you are missed and loved by many - Keep watching over us all down here until we're together again.

Saturday would have been your 40th birthday - a big milestone, but one that we can't celebrate with you. Instead we can only look back on all the beautiful memories of you and to the future of your best legacy, Alex. I am so thankful for that. I love you and miss you every minute of every day.

Just missing you more than usual today and wanted you to know. The "Big Guns Trauma Squad" is missing a good softball player, too! I hope all is well with Alex and he is making you proud!

I can't believe almost three years have passed. I miss you so much! I'm sure you were looking down but I wanted to be sure you knew that Mom and I were with Alex as he graduated on Saturday. He has grown up so fast. He has enlisted in the US Navy and will follow in your footsteps of protecting others. You are a great mom and we are all so very proud!! Love and miss you!

Today is such a beautiful spring day and it brings to mind so many beautiful memories of you and your sisters playing, laughing and enjoying life. Without our memories we would just be lost in our grief. I thank God each day that He gave us the wonderful priviledge of having you in our family even though I wish it could have been a much longer time.
I love you and miss you and wait for the time we will be together again.
