Tim, it's almost been a year since Lt. Kelly and I were sitting in the car waiting to clear intersections for you to be transported to the E.R. Donna and I were talking the other day about you buying my Roadking and telling me,"its like riding a bicycle" and nearly taking out the trees in the yard when you left on it. So much has happened since you have left us. We miss you Bro, I miss your jokes, your friendship, and most of all, just hearing your voice. So now that God has you, continue to look out for us and know we'll see you again brother.

God speed

wow, i'm sitting here at my desk in investigations about to cry cause i couldn't tell you about my promotion. It's been nearly a year and i still miss you every day. I've never really had anyone i cared about as much be taken from me. I think of things you would say or how you would cut up with everyone and theres a little sting when I realize I don't hear it anymore. miss you.

I am honored to have been invited to participate in the Police Unity Tour bicycle ride coming up in May. As you may know, the P.U.T.'s motto is "We Ride For Those Who Died". Our goal is to raise money for the buillding and maintanence for the Law Enforcement Memorial in Washington D.C.
Every year, each of the riders is given a blue bracelet to wear during the ride. Each bracelet has the name of a member of law enforcement taken in the line of duty, This past Friday I was given Tim's name. I am honored to ride in his memory...

Tim-
WOW! I'm ashamed to say that I didn't even know you were gone. I was looking at this website, I saw your name and my heart sank. I knew you only briefly several years ago. I read the reflections others left for you and it didn't surprise me one bit. You were definitely funny, polite, courteous, respectful and so many other things. As you know, we at Douglas County, lost Dep. Blake Gammill on 022405. He was shot and killed while serving a warrant. I know what your family and friends are going through. It's tough, but I promise it gets better. We had a memorial service for Blake yesterday, the one year anniversary, where a monument was unveiled and a flag was raised at his grave in his memory. It was really nice. You and Blake will get along great. Please say howdy to him for me. My heart goes out to your wife, children, family, friends and co-workers. They will all be in my thoughts and prayers. The Lord now has another great angel by his side and we have another great guardian angel watching over us. One day we will get to walk down Heaven's golden streets together.

We are so sorry to here about your tragic loss of a loved one in law enforcement. Our thoughts and prayers go out to you in support. As we personally know, sometimes there is little comfort that comes from words. Keep focused as you can on the memories and joyous times for these things may bring you comfort. Rely heavily on family, friends, and other law enforcement. Honor your fallen loved one, for their sacrifice will not be forgotten.

My fiancé, Dennis McElderry, was the first law enforcement casualty of 2003. Dennis was a Deputy Sheriff with the Davis County Sheriff's Office in SE Iowa. Dennis died doing a job he loved, just as I'm sure Tim did. It saddens me to know that Dennis was not the first to die in the line of duty, nor will he and Tim be the last to die this way.

Having gone through the pain of losing Dennis I can truly understand and feel the pain that Deputy White's family, friends, and co-workers are going through in losing him. My heart goes out to you all, especially to his wife. No one can truly understand the pain of loss until they've walked in our shoes. Please know that my thoughts are with you and that you are not alone in your "journey". Should you ever need anything please do not hesitate to contact me. (The Davis County Sheriff's Office will always know how to reach me.)

As a fallen officer "survivor" and a friend, please accept my condolences on behalf of myself and the McElderry family. I never got the opportunity to know Tim but, I am certain he was well respected and well loved. Tim will live on in the hearts of all the lives he touched. You were all blessed to have been able to know and love Tim, even for a short time. I pray that Tim, Dennis, and all the other fallen officers will continue to watch over us all as only they can.

Thank you Deputy White for a job well done and for helping to make this world a safer place for us all. Please say "hello" to my fiancé Dennis for me.

Wishing you and all those who loved you brighter and better days,

Jocelyne :)

Deputy White,
Your family & I will always share something even though we will probably never meet....greiving on October 3rd of every year. My first husband was killed in the line of duty also. Your family is beginning to travel a difficult road and is sometimes a very lonely one. I pray that the Lord will wrap his loving arms around them and carry them through the days ahead of them. I pray that your friends/co-workers and community will help your wife and children in many ways. They will surely need it. God Bless You

Tim, I knew you before ever joining this family of Law Enforcement Officers, and even before I became a fellow officer I was impressed by your kindness and humor. When I joined the Sheriffs Office you were my Sgt. and my role model, I remember wanting to do everything just like you. Then one day I came to briefing and you were my Lt. and I was so proud to work for you, everyone in the Detention Center wanted to work on our watch "C Watch" it was so much fun, but more than that it was concrete, we got the job done, and you taught us how to do that. You never stood in front of us or made us follow you, you never stood behind us or made us feel uncomfortable, you stood beside us and made us respect you because you were what we all wish one day we can be... a LEGEND. Your memories will live on for many, many, years to come and you will never be forgotten by anyone. You had so many people Tim, which looked up to you and respected you, and now will lead their Law Enforcement Careers for you in your memory. I remember when you got Kim her engagement ring, you were so excited to show someone, and you came up to me and pulled it out and showed it to me, and said "do you think she will like it" I told you she would love it and that I was so happy for you. You told me that I was the first to see it because I 'knew about this kind of stuff' and you wanted to know if it was what she would want. I remember the day you got married and how happy you were, you loved your wife and your children. I remember Nolan's Halloween costume one year, you and Lee made him a ghillie suit and you were so proud of him and so happy you said " he's my little solider" you often referred to him as 'mini -me' and if that's not the truth. I remember talking with you about Rachel and Regina and when they would have their first dates how it was going to ‘go down’ you had it all planned out and we all had a job to make sure that they would be respected and safe. They were the little girls you never knew you wanted. We were talking one day about Kim and the kids and you told me "it doesn't get much better than this" but then it did, Tim you and Kim had a beautiful child - Gavin Conner White, and you were so happy and proud, he was yours, your Boy. You became the best daddy any child would ever want, and even though you had your boy Gavin, you still remained the best daddy in the world to Regina, Rachel, and Nolan.
Tim, you had dreams for all your kids and you will not be disappointed, we will carry out your dreams and never worry because your children WILL know how wonderful, proud, honored and respected their Daddy will always be.
Your memorial service was beautiful and we all know you got the last laugh, with all of us standing out in that rain, we know you wouldn’t have it any other way.
I have been going to your house everyday since you passed, playing with the kids and talking to Kim, everything is going to be ok. I put Gavin to bed last night and stood in his room watching him for a while, he looks just like you Tim, and God knows he’s inherited your stubbornness and attitude. He will grow to be a great man just like his daddy.
I have a lot of great memories with You and Kim and the Kids and I will have to wait until they get older to tell them a lot of the stories about their daddy, but they will know who you were and what you stood for. I love you Tim, and will never forget you. I find it pretty ironic that today I looked on this page to share our memories, today is 10-10-05, (10-10) that’s all you brother, good times, good times…
God Speed and Rest in Peace. (313)/419, 10 – 7, 10-42. NEVER FORGOTTEN
