Brian,
7 weeks have passed by since that horrible night and it doesn't seem any easier to write this. We miss you so much. Your humor, smiles and jokes. Our Station is just a building now. It lacks our "Family" atmosphere. Everyday we come in to do our job and are reminded of the ultimate sacrifice you have given. There's not a shift that goes by that we aren't watching over your grave and checking in with your family. Have no fear- they will always be taken care of by your fellow officers and friends. We pray you'll look over us and find comfort in knowing that you're not suffering and in a better place. Rest in peace, brother.

Brian,
We were just coming on when that horrible call came out over the radio. What a helpless feeling. It rememinded me so much of when Dennis (U.D.P.D.) was taken from us in the same manner. I prayed so much for you that night while some of us went to the hospital to assist and a few remained back at HQ, listening to the tac channel, staring at eachother. Its indescribable the feeling you have when you look at a partner and nothing needs to be to said to know the concern coursing through our thoughts. Brian, sadly I didn't know you, and I never had the opportunity to see you on the street. I can only hope that you will always watch over all of us on the street, picking up the beat. Your sad death serves as an unwanted reminder to us all how real this position is. You have given us an immesuarable lesson none of us will ever forget. I had the opportunity to serve at your funeral through my department's honor guard. It was truly an honor to be there and to be able to serve you. I only wish I could have done so in a different manner and under different circumstances. Your police family will continue to look over your wife and child. And may you rest in eternal peace brother. Please keep us safe and know that we will be coming to you for strength.

Thank You,
Jess

P.S. Please keep Dennis company, he is a great guy and I'm sure you two will have plenty to laugh about.

I am the wife of an LEO and Corr.Ofc. in PA, I want to offer any services that any of my family (personal or PWO (police wives online){HUGS}Helping Uplift Grieving Survivors family) can provide to you At Any Time. I thank you for sharing Officer Gregg to protect and serve his community. It is not easy to share a family member and you unfortunately paid the ultimate price for sharing your loved one. But know that you did not pay in vein. Know that many brothers (and their families) all over grieve with you. And that he is watching over you and his fellow brothers always. Your family will be in our thoughts and prayers each and every day. Again, if there is anything you need, please do not hesitate to contact me or our site, we are here for you 24/7. Please pass along our thoughts as well to his partner, for he too is in our thoughts and prayers and is also welcome to contact us.

DEAR KELLI,
MY HEART GOES OUT TO YOU AND KYLE. I KNOW HOW MUCH BRIAN ADORED YOU. AND I KNOW HOW MUCH YOU BOTH WANTED A FAMILY AND WHAT WONDERFUL PARENTS YOU WOULD BE.
IT IS HEARTBREAKING AND SO UNFAIR FOR SUCH A TRULY GOOD PERSON TO BE TAKEN AWAY FROM ALL THAT LOVED HIM.
THANKYOU FOR SHARING BRIAN WITH OUR FAMILY. BRIAN SAVED BEN AND I FROM A DISASTOROUS SITUATION WHEN HE DROVE ALL THE WAY TO VA AS A FAVOR. BEN REMEMBERS BRIAN ROCKING HIM ON THE ROCKING CHAIR AFTER SPENDING AL DAY INSPECTING A HOUSE FOR ME.
BRIAN HAS DONE SO MUCH FOR EVERY MEMBER IN OUR FAMILY. HE WILL BE REMEMBERED AS A SWEET GUY WITH A TWINKLE IN HIS EYE AND A SMILE AND KIND WORD TO SAY. HE ALWAYS HAD A GRIN AND A JOKE READY.
PLEASE KNOW THAT YOU AND KYLE WILL ALWAYS BE IN OUR THOUGHTS AND IN OUR PRAYERS. LOVE, DEBBIE AND BEN

I never had the fortune of meeting Brian. However, having started my police career in Newtown Borough, I know from reading and hearing about Ofc. Gregg, that he was what "the Boro" was all about. I can only imagine making an impact on the community the way he did.

Its been almost two weeks since I stood among the family, friends and fellow Officers to honor Brian at his funeral. The time has been a blur since I stood at the exit of Saint Mary's checking cars. But no matter how much time passes, I will stand proud in the uniform in which Ofc. Gregg stood proud. And I will, every day, try to be half the cop he was.

To the family and friends of Brian and to Chief Wojciechowski and the Officers of the Newtown Borough Police Department, our prayers are with you always.

To this day I can not get over the loss that I personally feel over the death of a great person,a great man, great husband, father, and quite frankly anything associated with my freind is great. I spoke with Brian 3 days before his death and I will never forget his humor and I could hear his happiness in his voice because he was at work and we were on the nextel two-way and he was involved in something, most likely a parking ticket. I knew Brian many years before he was a cop and I knew how anxious he was about being a police officer. I was working in a small town called Hulmeville just about 1/2 from his house and I remember when he made arrangements with the Chief to ride with me. We rode together on many a night and one day he says to me, "I have been accepted to the academy" his face was so full of pride. You have to realize one thing, Brian was 43 or 44 at the time. Thats what gets to me. He wanted it so bad. His dream came along so late in life but he strived and thats what life is about. Brian was a funny, giving, he looked out for me and he was the best freind anyone could ever hope for. I hope to see you again Brian. Keep smiling. If anyone who reads this has any questions. email me at [email protected]. God bless. Be safe.

In the simple performance of duty,
he pinned on a badge,
checked his gear with a practiced eye,
and kissed his loved ones good-bye.

In the simple performance of duty,
he reported for work,
joked with his buddies at roll call,
and made his last trip down the squadroom hall.

In the simple performance of duty,
he answered the call
to help the helpless, to find the lost,
no matter the danger or how great the cost.

In the simple performance of duty,
he lay down his life,
for those in peril he tried to save,
our brave friend went to his grave.

In the simple performance of duty,
we honor his deed,
as we carry him to rest in a flag-draped casket,
long after the world has forgotten, we shall never forget.

Never judge or regret, what he did, In the simple performance of duty.

Rest in peace brother, you will always be remembered.

Brian,
You have taught us all a very valuable lesson in police work. The show of support from the community is a tribute to your hard work in upholding the special relationship we have with the people we serve. The love that is expressed for you by the community cannot be understated.

You have done your job well, and we shall forever be grateful. May God watch over and protect your family. We, your fellow brothers and sisters in law enforcement, will make sure they never want for anything. This we promise you.

ODE TO A STREET COP
by Chris McMullin
Warriors dressed in silver and blue,
morning, day, or night, they will protect you.
A hand raised, a sworn oath stated,
to be loved by some and by others hated.
To answer the call whether minor or deadly,
to a stranger in need they will always be friendly.
At times they're given the ultimate test,
uphold the oath and lay your soul to rest.
Whenever they're called, they will be there,
to friends and family it doesn't seem fair.
A sincere thanks and hand salute we raise,
to those in blue who are so truly brave.

Officer Gregg,

"A coward dies a thousand deaths, the valiant one dies just once"

Your contributions to the Newtown Borough Community will be sorely missed. Just about everybody has a Brian story. You took the time to talk to the residents and be a sympathetic ear, You took the time with the people you came into contact with, something we all should emulate. May God bless Kellann and Kyle.

Officer Gregg and family,
Whenever a fellow police officer is taken from us, a piece of us goes with him. May God give Brian His eternal love and peace. Know that his work here was not in vain, and that he won't be forgotten. He'll make us better, and stronger, and even more determined to do the work that he loved so much.

You can shed tears that he is gone
Or you can smile because he has lived.
You can close your eyes and pray that he'll come back
Or you can open your eyes and see what he left.
Your heart can be empty because you can't see him
Or you can be full of the love you shared.
You can turn your back on tomorrow and live yesterday
Or you can be happy for tomorrow because of yesterday.
You can remember him and only that he's gone
Or you can cherish his memory and let it live on.
You can cry and close your mind, be empty and turn your back
Or you can do what he would want....
smile, open your eyes, love...and go on.
You touched this small Borough with your humor, your gentleness and your endless dedication. We are truly blessed that you came into our lives. May God hold you in the palm of his hand. With greatful thanks...Marcia

Exceptional, extraordinary, unique, loving, kind, funny, considerate, respectful, there are not enough good adjectives to describe Brian. We have been blessed to have had him for our dear friend and part of our extended family for 18 years and in all that time we have never seen anything but goodness in him.
During a snow storm when our power was out for hours, he showed up at our door with a generator (how he got through on the roads I'll never know)but there he was grinning asking if anyone here needed lights and heat. Another time a pipe broke,my rec room was flooding,Brian happened to call just as I discovered the mess, next thing I knew he was there with a sump pump and wet vac asking if anyone needed a plumber, he also repaired the broken pipe. He was always there for us in so many situations that one time something happened, I can't recall exactly what it was, but our little grandaughter Ashley said "Better call 911 Brian". This saying became our family joke even in little situations. rian loved it. He shared all our joys, celebrations and sorrows. He was the one who made us laugh with his cartoon impersonations. He'd just show up with his ladder and put up our Christmas lights and on Christmas Eve he'd put all the childrens' toys together on Christmas eve and was the first one to play with everything. When we had our heartaches he was there with hugs, comforting us. The two times that will always stand out in our minds when we was so proud and radiating so much happiness he could hardly contain himself was the day he and Kelly presented their new son to us and the first time he wore his policeman's uniform. He rang our doorbell, standing at attention with the biggest smile I ever saw. We were so happy to see he made his dream come true to be a policeman but I told him with that happy face, he'd never scare anyone. I asked him many times if he was one of God's angels in disguise. He'd laugh and say he was too devilish to be an angel and would proceed to delight us with his stories of how "bad" he was when he was young. We would howl laughing at the silly pranks he said he did. Never was there anything mean or nasty done to anyone, just very funny things. I suppose I'm writing this for all the people who wish they had known Brian. This is just a small personal glimps of him, we could write a book and perhaps some day we will just because he was such an exceptional person.
Kelly was not only Brian's wife, they were best friends. He truly was,is and always will be her other half, without him she's never going to feel completely whole again. Kyle, who was Brian's constant side-kick,is now deprived of one of the best Dads in the
world. There is a pain in my heart that will never go away when I think of my friend. He loved everyone in his family and all of his friends. He loved the little one square mile of Newtown Borough and all the people in it. He took his job seriously, it was his vocation to keep this little town safe. We'll never know how many people his kindness touched. We only know evil passed through and took our angel away.
I know Brian is happy in Heaven. We pray for God to comfort Kelly, Kyle and all his family and friends who are always going to miss him.
