As I read about your death a few days ago, my heart broke for your family. I know they were so proud of you. May God wrap his loving arms around them and help them through all the days ahead. There isn't a day that will pass that they won't think of you in some way. I also will keep the instructor in my prayers - he will needs much support also. God bless you Tara.

Another Georgia Officer has fallen. To Tara's family and friends find comfort in knowing that what Tara was doing was attempting to help others. God's speed sister, and may your fellow brothers and sisters always keep a place in their heart.

It has taken time to be able to read these reflections, having to pause with each to wipe the tears that I may read the next. I have attended other services for my fallen brothers and sisters, but never one so close to home and heart. Though our jobs present us with many challenges which we overcome, we carry the scars with us forever. Each time we lay an officer to rest, we leave a little of ourselves behind. In return we carry away the memories and experiences of our fallen family to keep us strong. We welocome your family into ours as we did you. May God watch over us all and guide us.

My heart goes out to the fellow officers, family and friends of Officer Drummond and the trainer involved. We live daily with the reality that this may happen, yet we carry on because it is the right thing to do. I am so sorry this happened and may you all know that all law enforcement officers out there are mourning your loss. Our department lost Officer Molly Bowden on Feburary 10, 2005 and we share your sorrow.

I still can't believe this preventable and ridiculous situation happened to the little girl I knew so many years ago. When I got the phone call from my mother about Tara's death, I couldn't help but cry. We both felt helpless and speechless. I thank you all for your kind words of hope and compassion for the rest of my family. Peace be with you all and Tara may you rest in peace.

What can you say, this is not suppose to happen it is absolutely senseless. May the Lord be with you and be with your family and co-workers. We all know the risk on the streets and we know training can be rough and physical, but it should NEVER be deadly, that is all i can say without speaking my thoughts. You will never be forgotten.

The loss of Tara has affected so many lives. Tara's death is truly such a tragedy that will be felt for many years to come by her family and fellow mandate students. As a former police officer, the wife of a police officer and most importantly, a mother, Tara's death has touched every aspect of my life and made me realize how important it is to recognize the beauty of not only our lives here on earth, but that life which is waiting for us in heaven. There is a reason for Tara's death- God has a reason for everything he does- and we will know that reason someday (but I also know it so hard right now for so many people!) Until then, we must remember Tara and honor her life.

To the Drummond family, I need to tell you that you are truly remarkable people. The strength and forgiveness that you have shown is incredible. I can only thank you for your kindness during a time when I know you are grieving so deeply. Time does heal wounds and I pray that your pain will indeed be eased as you move forward.

Take care of each other and please lean on Tara's law enforcement family. They share a strong bond which can never be broken.

Tara, many of us are very sad and upset at your loss. You made me smile more than once, I know you made everyones life better and treated friends and family so well. I hope that I can remember the joy of knowing you, and not the sadness of missing you. I won't ever find another person to fill your place in the world, you were so very special to so many. I hope your family can find peace and know that many share your loss.

Tara,
I don't know you or your family, but my daughter and I had the honor of stopping and honoring your life as your procession drove by us. As I stood outside of my vehicle and crossed my heart out of respect, tears just flowed seeing the amount of support your family has around them. I have never been so touched. It was very overwhelming to say the least. I can tell that you touched so many lives and brought so much joy to your family. My love goes out to you and your loved ones as they remember you each day. The police force of Kennesaw is an amazing unit and you will truly be missed. You will continue to be in the thoughts and prayers of my children & myself.

Dearest Tara:

I keep hearing that everything happens for a reason. I'm having a hard time finding reason in our loss of your incredible energy and joy for life. I only knew you a short time but you touched the hearts of myself and the "Michiganders" immeasurably. We will always remember your warmth and beauty and the complete sincerity with which you embraced our family.

I met you for the 1st time at our wedding and looked again at the pictures of you sharing that day with us last night. You were so beautiful and made our perfect day just that much more complete.

If there is any reason to be found in losing you it would be that we have all learned to never take anyone or anything for granted. Life happens in every instant and you have taught me that we can lose those that we love in an instant. I will never again take my loved ones for granted or wish I had picked up the phone or kept in closer touch. I will never again assume that those I love know how I feel.

We all love you and miss you. I know you are in heaven so please say hi to my mom, Grandma, Grandpa and Uncle John. You never met them but trust me, they all know you and would love you as we do.

Love, Martha and Tom No
