Trooper Mark Carthon, you will be in my thoughts and prayers and also your wife, family and friends and workers. You made the ultimate sacrifice and your tour of duty ended too soon. I am the mother of a young Philadelphia Plice officer, and know all to well the dangers our officers face every day when they put their ives in danger, protecting us. God Bless You as you sleep in Gods love and peace. Respectfully, Kathi Halligan, Phila., Pa.

To the family of Trooper Carthron, I am saddened by your loss. I heard of the accident while attending a candle light vigil for another fallen Arkansas officer, Mike Waters. I knew Mark only for a very short time, when I was also a West Memphis Police Officer. I remember that he always had a smile, no matter how he was actually feeling. I regret that I did not get to know Mark any better than passing friends. I can not imagine what you are, and will, go through. I can only say that he, and your family, are in our prayers. God bless.
