Reflections for Police Officer Daniel Howard Golden

To the family, friends, co-workers of Daniel and all other law enforcement men & women across the world, our thoughts and prayers go out to all of you. I never knew Daniel, but have had the opportunity to train, know and become friends with some of Huntsville's finest. Even though I did not know Daniel we were still brother's in Christ and in the law enforcement community. Daniel has not died, he has simply moved onto the next phase in his walk thru life. He will forever be in his new (permanent) assignment in Heaven, the greatest promotion anyone could recieve.

May God's comfort fill your hearts knowing that Daniel will always be remembered and loved. His dedication to what he believed in provided the stability of his resolve and integrity. Jesus be with you and comfort you in your time of grief... and goodbye to one of the best cut down in the prime.

My thoughts go to Daniel's family, some I know and some I don't, always know that everyone who knew him loved and respected him. He will not be forgotten and he will serve as an example to all of a great police officer and an even greater person. Sleep well, Brother.

To the family and friends of officer Golden, I would like to tell you that the agony and grief you feel will lessen over time, I just do not know if it really does. We also suffered a similar tragedy and I am waiting for the grief to be a little easier. I can tell by the amount of reflections on officer Goldens page that he was well liked and it will take a long time, just take care of each other and most definately take care of the family. God bless you all I will keep you in my daily prayers.

At night we pray
thanking GOD for another day
slowly drifting off to sleep
praying to the Lord my soul to keep

Waking the next day
not knowing what it will bring
whether fun and love
or anger and steam

doing a job
to serve and protect
answering many calls
not knowing what to expect

but when such a young life
has come to an end
just know he is with GOD
and Donessa you will see him again

Daniel where to begin friend... I have seen you on the streets and worked many calls with you. You are a shining example of what we all should strive to be like. A true friend, someone we can talk to when we need to talk, someone who was trustworthy, professional and just all around awesome person. You will be missed by all of us in the community and the other agencies you worked with.

Dee we are all here for you and the kids with lots of love and support and will always be here for you. As someone who works with you in the field I have been priviliged to know both of you and wouldnt trade those awesome memories for anything in the world.

Daniel you will be missed by all of us in many ways. Be sure and know your fellow brothers and sisters in blue will take care of your watch and all of us will watch over your family. God speed my friend. Now you can rejoice knowing you are in a much better place and once again getting to hold your son in your arms. I will never forget you and all the funny stories you would tell. Those happy memories will be with us forever!!!!!!

Take care my friend and see you on the other side someday. :)

As a dispatcher its the one thing you never want to hear is officer down, and i hope and pray i never do, your dispatchers send you on a routine call and never think you may not return. I shutter to think how i would feel if it was one of my own, but you can be assured that we all feel the brunt when you loose one we all do. To officer goldens family and friends fellow officers and dispatchers you are all in our thoughts.

Officer Golden was one of the best people I have known. Every time i close my eyes I hear his voice and see his face. I keep asking why was such a great man taken from us. I never remember a roll call where he walked in and the rest of us were not laughing. He always had a smile on his face and the ability to put a smile on your face as well. It seems like a part of me died with you. But i know that you are in a better place. Just know you will never be forgotten. It was a pleasure working with you. "Forever remembered, Never Forgotten!"
