Lord, I ask for courage;
Courage to face and conquer my own fears...
Courage to take me where others will not go.
I ask for strength;
Strength of body to protect others...
Strength of spirit to lead others.
I ask dedication;
Dedication to my job to do it well...
Dedication to my community to keep it safe.
Give me, Lord, concern;
For all those who trust me...
And compassion for those who need me
And, please, Lord, through it all; be at my side.

Hey little brother, Trace and I sold our house and we are about to build on the farm beside Mom & Dad. I am really missing you, but I can't wait to look off my back porch and see the fields & hills we played on as kids. I love you and miss you so very much....

You were a good man and a good officer, Kelso. Know that you are remembered with love and respect and your family remains in our thoughts and prayers.

Justice is mine, saith the Lord, and your murderer is subject to His justice now. And that is precisely as it should be.

Rest in peace, Little Brother.

The coward that took your life also took his own life in the last final act of a true coward. He couldn't even take his true punishment like a man. His attorney had the gall to make the statement that he would be going to heaven to join you. We all know where he is going, straight to hell to reap his punishment for eternity. Rest in peach Kelso, we all miss you. God Bless.

Recently Deputy Ricky Del Fiorentino, Mendocino County Sheriff's Department was killed in the line of duty. Ricky's sister is a California Highway Patrol Dispatcher. As the commander of the Communications Center, I tried to provide as much comfort and assistance to his sister as I could. Ricky's funeral service was today. I talked to his sister, Debra, a bit today, and mentioned to her about the Peace Officer Memorial Ceremony in Washington, DC. That conversation brought back memories of my visit to DC back in 2006 to honor my friend, CHP Officer Andrew Stevens. And that is where I met the fine people from the Huntsville, Alabama, Police Department that were their to honor their friend, Officer Daniel Golden. I have not forgotten. And every time I hear Sweet Home Alabama I remember the night in the bar, everyone toasting Daniel, drinks held high, screaming out the lyrics at 0300 hours....
