I just saw this story on America's Most Wanted and thought what a touching, tragic, terribly sad story, and absolutely senseless this would have to happen to such an incredibly handsome, strikingly beautiful man. My heart and deepest condolences go out to his family and his friends and their terrible loss and hope you will see him again in Heaven. The criminal Scot was chasing who caused this to happen needs to be caught _yesterday_ and sentenced to everything the law will possibly allow.

Respectfully,
Preston W.

My thoughts, prayers and sincerest sympathy goes out to the family, friends of Officer Beyerstedt, and to the Mattawan Police Department. I have never met Officer Beyerstedt but I can only imagine what kind of person he is. I lost a very respected and loved friend, Cpl. Mark Jones on February 27, 2005. Mark was killed in an automobile accident also while on duty responding to another officers call for help. Mark is an honorable man and and his character is above comprehendsion. It takes a special person to become an Officer and with me knowing Mark and what a wonderful person he is, I am postive that Officer Scot Beyerstedt is the same. I found a quote and I would like to share it because I know Mark must have read it before because of the meaning and he like so many other officers lived by.
Watch your thoughts; they become words.
Watch your words; they become actions.
Watch your actions; they become habits.
Watch your habits; they become character.
Watch your character; it becomes your destiny.
Frank Outlaw
Again my thoughts and prayers are with you all.
God Speed Officer Beyerstedt
Forever gone but forever in many hearts.

Respectfully,
Wanda Martin

May you rest in peace and may your family be comforted by their memories of you. May your FTO find some peace and remember that it was someone else's actions who caused this great loss, not his.
