Leave a Reflection

Reflections for Trooper Todd Michael Larkins

I wish that heaven had a phone so I could hear your voice again. I thought of you today, but that is nothing new. I thought about you yesterday and days before that too. I think of you in silence; I often speak your name. All I have are memories and a picture in a frame. Your memory is a keepsake from which I'll never part. God has you in his arms. I have you in my heart. Remembering you on your 37th birthday - I Love You, Todd!

It's been 5 years today. It still feels unreal. So many days gone by, so many things that you should have been here for. For all the days yet to come, for all the things yet to happen, we will be thinking of you. We miss you so much. Still. Always.

I just found this. I just wanted to express my condolences to the family of Trooper Larkins. I met him when my mom worked for the Sheriffs Dept. We always joked that we shared a name. My thoughts are with you all.

Trooper Larkins,

You are one of many brother Troopers whose death has led to changes. I attended a work zone safety class today and your case was profiled. Your death was not in vain! We are trying to learn from your tragedy.

Just thinking about you today, on would have been your 36th birthday............I remember the day you were born - you barely made it in to this world before I had to head back to Texas. For some reason we were to have you only for not quite 32 years - I am thankful for those years :) I love you, babe!

Your heroism and service is honored today, the fourth anniversary of your death. Your memory lives and you continue to inspire. Thank you for your service. My cherished son Larry Lasater was a fellow police officer who was murdered in the line of duty on April 24, 2005 while serving as a Pittsburg, CA police officer.

Time never diminishes respect. Your memory will always be honored and revered. Rest In Peace.

Officer Down
The word spread across town;
In a chilling voice, an officer was down.
Who could it be, was a mystery to all;
As dozens of deputies responded to the call.
As they arrived on the scene, they quickly found;
Their friend and co-worker, was the officer down.
In a twist of fate, in The small town of Dickson;
Lay Trooper Todd Larkins, there on the ground.
A veteran on the force, and respected by all;
He stood proud and straight, and oh so tall.
He'd not recover from his injuries tht day;
For it wasn't God's Will, for him to stay.
It wasn't just an officer, that we saw go down;
But a husband, a dad, a brother to fellow officers, a friend 2 so many,
A citizen of our town.
If there's a lesson to learn, from what has taken place;
Just look at the sadness on this widow's face.
Slow down I beg you, and look out when you drive;
So the men that protect you, can get home alive.
We'll never get over, the words that shook our town;
"Attention all units-we have an officer down."

R.I.P. Todd we love and miss u everyday !!!!
