Thoughts of you are weighing heavy on my heart today. It still doesn't seem possible that you are gone. Carina looks so much like you & that feels really good; you would be so proud of the amazing young lady that she has grown in to. You are so loved & so not forgotten by so many. I miss you lots.

Its like a plague or fire burning, cosuming you inside and out, what I would give to not feel it for a few hours!! Then though I would think I was dead, at least this way I know I am very much alive!!!

I just happened on this site and felt compelled to leave this message. Todd and I both worked together at Turney Center Prison for a while. Todd was a SUPER guy and a very good Officer. I thought the world of him. That kid wanted to be a Trooper some kind of bad. I knew he'd applied for THP. I'll never forget one day we met on the sidewalk and he was grinning like nobody's business and he said, "Mitchell, I made it, I'm going to be a Trooper!" I was soooo proud for him and gave him a big hug! Eventually, I left the prison and went to work for the Montgomery County Sheriff's Office. I had been off a couple of days and hadn't seen any TV and didnt know about Todd. I walked into our briefing room, noticed a newspaper and started reading it. Todd's story was on the front page. I suddenly felt weak and had to go outside. I started crying uncontrolably and was unable to tell my fellow workers what was wrong with me for a few minutes. I couldnt believe it! Todd---dead---no way! That hurt me so much. I still think of Todd a lot. Our Agency has a sticker of Todd and the "Move Over" Law on all the Patrol cars and every time I see that sticker, I think of Trooper Todd Larkins and what a Wonderful person he was. There's not a doubt in my mind he's looking down from Heaven on us. I'll NEVER forget you, Todd. You carry on, Brother.

Todd you and your family have been on my mind quite a bit here lately. I watched your daughter grow up in band with my son. She is a beautiful young lady and you would be so proud of her.I believe she will do well in life. I see Alicia every now and then and she is being very strong and relentless in the move over law in Tennessee. You and your family are not forgotten brother.

Today is a day of reflection. Andy is being laid to rest and for many, reminds us more than any other day, of another great man tragiclly killed in the line of duty. I've been very proud Todd, watching Carina grow up. She is just like you in so many ways. Not only does she look like you, but she's quiet, shy and has your smile. I know you are in heaven with a huge smile on your face, as you watch over her and all of us. RIP my friend...RIP.

I can hardly believe 6 years have past since we last talked. Now I'm sitting on I-40 crying uncontrollably as I deal with losing Andy. Please take him under your wings and send us some comfort. He was just a rookie when you left. He became a fine Trooper.
Todd , our daughters are graduating from DCHS in a week. I'm so proud of them. They are great friends. Corina is so beautiful. She looks just like her DAD.
I love & miss you brother.

Trooper Larkins,
Your service was an ultimate sacrifice, most people go through life wondering if they ever made a difference, any state trooper, local police officer or county sheriff's deputy wouldn't have that problem. You were a Tennessee State Trooper and you will always be rememebered as a one of Tennessee's Finest State Troopers. All troopers have one thing in common, they all make a difference within the state on the highways, county roads and the interstates. On July 8,2005, you made a sacrifice to stop a vehicle on the interstate and make sure they were following the law, but you were hurt in the process. I have heard that you were a good man, and an even better State Trooper.

R.I.P. Trooper Larkins, EOW:July 8,2005
God speed, you are gone but never forgotten.
