Reflections for Trooper Todd Michael Larkins

In loving memory of Trooper Todd
Larkins: It is just unthinkable how much heartache this has caused because someone moved to the
right instead of to the left. Such a
simple thing has such devastating
results and our hearts go out to all
who will miss all the good things you
brought to their lives. Many wonderful things have been said about you and you lived a life that
honors your Lord and Savior Jesus
Christ. Hard to believe that you are
in perfect peace and it will be ages
before those left behind will even
come close to it. May the Lord hold
you in the palm of His hand and
comfort those who will struggle to
move on in the years ahead. Where
would anyone of us be without the
Hope of Heaven? May we all yearn
to live our lives for Christ who will one day make all things right and just. John 14:6 and John 3:16 will help us celebrate our salvation and be secure in our knowledge of seeing you again. I look forward to meeting you one fine day. Until then, May God comfort those close to you and carry them thru their canyon of grief. Thank you for your exemplary service and your supreme sacrifice. With love from one coast of America to the other.

To the family, friends, and Tennessee Highway Patrol Brotherhood: Words cannot express the sympathy we feel for you and your loss. It is hard to lose a fellow officer. Just remember that he's still up there, driving that long that stretch of golden highway, still keeping his watch. God Speed Trooper Larkins, we will see you again.

Corrections Officer Christopher M Walker
Sequatchie County Sheriff's Department

It is a tragedy to lose such a great officer to inconsiderate drivers. I never knew you but you are still a brother. It seems that our family gets smaller and smaller each day. hopefully your death will not be in vain and others will learn from this incident so that one day our lives may be spared from the same. may God be with your family at this difficult time and your spirit watch over us as we carry on.

I want to commend the Tennessee Highway Patrol for the funeral that was given to Trooper Todd M. Larkins. From the mile and half procession to the gravesite with various law enforcement agencies represented to the three helipcopters that were flown overhead during the ceremony was a great service put together to honor the fallen trooper. Trooper Larkins funeral is the first police funeral I ever been to, and I will always remember this sacred event. Tennessee Highway Patrol be proud of yourselves, because the tasks you performed during the service was A JOB WELL DONE!!!

Those of us at the Sheriff's Department who had the opportunity to meet and work with Trooper Larkin really liked him. He was always calm, quiet, and smiling. He always had a kind word for us. When we call for a trooper we always wonder which one will be coming. When Trooper Larkin would get out the car I would always smile and want to shake his hand. I enjoyed the small amount time I got to spend around him. About a month ago I got in a pursuit and we asked THP to send a Trooper to help us look for the suspect and Trooper Larkin came. When we were finished we were talking and I told him that we were about to go look for two escapees and even though it was close to the end of his shift and he could have left he followed us to the area and stayed close by in case we called for help. I really liked Trooper Larkin and appreciate the pride and effort he put in being a Tennessee State Trooper. My prayers are with Trooper Larkin's family and his troop. He will be sorely missed.

I rember the day you came to me asking how to get on the highway patrol.
After talking a few minutes; I asked if you were sure this was what you wanted, and you replied, "more than anything else." During this conversation I came to the conclusion that you would become a fine Tennessee Trooper.
After working with you, watching you in your job over the five years, and knowing you as friend; I don!t know of anyone that could have set a better example.
My wife and I attended your funeral services yesterday along with several hundred of your other fellow officers and friends. This was not to say goodbye, but to honor your memory, and for a job well done.
Rest easy 3425 your shift is over, but not forgotten. We will try to hold the line till we meet again.

I never met Trooper Larkins but I attended the funeral today to be there for a friend of mine and to show my gratitude for the sacrifices made by Trooper Larkins. I heard wonderful stories about Trooper Larkins life and his family, saw pictures of different stages and events of his life, and saw how many people he had that loved him. My thoughts and prayers are truly with Alicia, Carina, the rest of Todd's family, and his THP family.
