Thinking of you - as I do each day. Love you & Miss you!

Mrs. Todd Larkins and daughter,

I hear the pain in your heart with each message you leave for your husband and they touch me in a way that says you've gathered the courage to go on and live life to the fullest.

Remember the pride and joy on the day the Badge was pinned on his uniform? He chose an honorable profession and served with pride and dedication. He probably wouldn't have been happy doing anything else. There's something about police work that gives a person extreme satisfaction at the end of every day, and the next day you want to be out there and doing it again.

Keeping your husband’s memory alive shows the love and respect you have for this man. He is with you and will always be with you through eternity.

Blessings to you and your daughter,

Daniel

3425,

Again, a lot has changed since I have been on here. I am now in Galveston, TX and I am now married. I wish you could have met my wife Becky, I think you would have been proud of me. I still long for the opportunity to call you up and ask your advice in difficult situations that I am going through. You were always a great friend with great advice!!
Take care my brother, I will see you again some day.

I know that there are a lot of good thoughts about you today, Todd. There is such a void in our family that can never be filled. But, it is comforting to know that you are at peace & are watching over us from above. With love,

Dear Mrs. Larkins, I came across your husband's memorial while looking for vehicle registration information on the Tennessee website. I was working in law enforcement a state away the day your husband was killed. I am so very sorry to both you and your daughter for your unimaginable loss. No words can express enough empathy, no commentary enough comfort. But I do lift up you and your daughter (and Todd's whole family) in prayer. Though the pain will never abate, I wish you God's peace and holy blessing, as well as the comfort of the beautiful love that you still share.

Todd, Because of you, Tennessee now has a Move Over Law. It is a pity that it took loosing you to make that happen.
The sweetest thing I believe I have ever seen came out of this awful thing. A bumper sticker that has a little girl on it with the words, "Please Move Over, My Daddy is working out here."
All you can say to that is, AMEN. Thank you and thanks to your family for the service you gave to the State of TENNESSEE.

I Love You and know you are here with me in spirt. I really wish you were here though, I miss your smile, laugh, and your touch. I just wish you were here to hold me and make the rest of the world go away, like you use to do.

I Love You Baby,
Your Wife

"The Badge"

He starts his shift each day
To respond to calls unknown.
He drives a marked patrol car.
A police officer he is known.

He's paid by the citizens' taxes
To make it safe on the streets.
But he usually has a second job
'Cause a waitress has his salary beat.

Now he doesn't know a holiday
'Cause he works all year round.
And when Thanksgiving and Christmas finally arrive
At his home he cannot be found.

He's cursed and assaulted often,
The one whos blood runs blue.
He seldom ever gets a thanks,
To some he's just a fool.

His friends are always other cops
'Cause people just don't understand
That underneath his badge and gun,
He's just another man.

He knows there might not be a tomorrow
In this world of drugs and crime.
And he gets so mad at the court system
'Cause the crooks don't get any time.

And each day when he leaves for work,
He prays to God above.
Please bring me home after my shift
So I can see the ones I love.

But tonight he stops a speeding car,
He's alone down this ole' highway.
It's just a little traffic infraction.
He does it everyday.

Well, he walks up to the driver's window,
And his badge is shining bright.
He asked the guy for a driver's license,
When a shot rang through the night.

Yes, the bullet hit its mark,
Striking the officer in the chest.
But the Department's budget didn't buy
Each officer a bullet-proof vest.

So he lay on the ground bleeding.
His blood wasn't blue - His blood was red.
And briefly he thought of his loved ones
'Cause in a moment the officer was dead.

In the news they told the story
Of how this officer had died.
And some who listened cared less,
But those who loved him cried.

Well, they buried him in uniform
With his badge pinned on his chest.
He even had his revolver,
He died doing his best.

It broke my heart to lose you, but you didn't go alone, part of me went with you the day God called you home.

Happy Anniversary, Baby. One day when God decides to call me home we will be back together and no one will be able to separate us again, I Love You and look forward to that day.

Well just checking in. Three years probation for taking a Husband and Daddy away from his family. To express whats on my mind would do your memorial a injustice so I will bite my tongue. I know you are well and in a place where no one again will hurt you. God Speed.

As I drive each day, I see your name on the green signs on the interstate - a portion of I-40 has been dedicated in your honor. As if I needed anything to remind me of you - these signs always bring tears to my eyes. It is an honor...one of the many things that will continue your legacy. Much deserved....you did good!

You are missed...loved....and thought of each and every day.

As I have come upon this page by mistake, I have read about you from many people that love you and shared your work with you. I did not know you, but it sounds like you were a very special person in life. I am grateful that I could read the great comments about you, your family and other fellow officers. I am only sorry that we cannot meet more wonderful people like you. May god be with you and protect your family.
