Trooper Parker its been awhile. I was only about 7 or 8 when you passed but I still remember it like it was yesterday. They gave me a bracelet with your name on it and I always wear it. The years have past but you have not been forgotten. Dad still tells old police stories about you and the guys. I'm grown now and starting law enforcement. Just trying to make a difference like you guys did.

You were my neighbor, my friend and my trainer at times. I rode with you many a night as a reserve I learned from you and about you.

I am still blessed after all these years to have met you and I know that you are truly missed by many. RIP Trooper.

Trooper, I just left Skinner Rd and 527 the woods have reclaimed the spot were you gave your all to the State of South Carolina. It has taken 10 years but as I sat there and relived 05-16-2005 it came to me that the ones of us in the chase and on scene that day did do everything we could have done. The calm that I felt today has been a long time in coming. I have read your reflections from first to last. You are still truly missed by your family and friends and you will never be forgotten by me. Trooper I am still sorry that I could not get through the flames but after today I know I have been forgiven (thank you). Continue to watch over the ones of us still on the line we need it more than ever now.

Jon,

I sure do miss you! Mike lives close by me here in St. Pete and we always talk about you and how you would love to be here fishing with him. It feels like there is a hole in our family since you've been gone! We all miss you soooo much and love you dearly...You are safe now, but still missed here! I love you my little brother!

Jon,
It's been 10 years and I still see it as it just happened. Don't know what I could have done differently to change the outcome. Wish I could have done more. Still fighting the flames and tears. Rest easy brother.

Jon, today as I watch the news another officer is killed in the line of duty. I am overwhelmed with sadness. I think of all the sacrifice all officers give. I think yet another family has to go through. And I known that with time it gets a little easier, but it never completely heals. I pray for them and all officers out there. I especially pray for your loving family; who misses you every day.

Trooper nine years ago today you were taken from your family and South Carolina lost a hero. I just left 527 and Skinner Rd. Lin was there when I arrived and together we did what I have done ever May 16th since 2005. Prayed for your family and relived what we could have done differently. I tried blaming the coward that started the events of that day and did a lot of what if's. Brother I am still sorry that I could not get through the flames. RIP Trooper you will not be forgotten

Jon,
It's been 9 years now and it still doesn't get any easier. Sitting here on 527 as I have on every May 16 since and I still feel the emotional pain of that day. I'm sorry that we couldn't get to you in time brother. So many questions, so many "what ifs"; but the answers won't change what happened. Miss ya bud. Still fighting the flames.

Jon,
It is May once again. The greening leaves and warm sunshine belie the sadness that this time of year holds for me and those who love you.
On May 16, next Friday, you will have been gone away from us for nine years. Nine years.
Love you, always.

Trooper Parker eight years have passed since the state of South Carolina lost a protector in grey. I traveled over to Skinner Rd. and 527 today and sat for awhile as I have done ever year on this date and tried to think of anything that I could have done differently in 2005. Again brother I'am sorry I couldn't get through the flames. Continue to watch over those of us still on the line. RIP Troop
