Leave a Reflection

Reflections for Police Officer David Christopher Uribe

Brother in arms, you fell for the cause.
The loss of your life has given me pause.

Tho' we fought the same fight, not quite side by side,
My grief at your passing is not easy to hide.

But fight on we must, for that is our charge.
I ask that you watch us, as forward we march.

You've earned your relief, so sleep without fear.
Rest easy my brother. We'll take it from here.

It saddens me to read that another officer has lost his life while protecting those he had vowed to serve. My heart goes out to his family and to the Phoenix Police Department. The Department was so good to my nephew, Nathan, when he had to catch a flight to Seattle, Washington, to be with his father, Federal Way Officer, Pat Maher, who also was shot in the line of duty. Thanks to their efforts, Nathan was able to get to Washington--but not in time to say good-bye. Perhaps Pat and Nathan greeted officer Uribe in heaven. Strength to all those who grieve.
