Reflections for Deputy Sheriff Andrew Harrison Taylor

I attended the academy with Andy. His sense of humor often had the whole class laughing. I remember the crowd at his funeral and the procession to the cemetery. You are missed.

I never had the privilege to meet you in person but I was there for your funeral. The way the cars filled every street was something to be seen.

There has not been a day on patrol that I do not pass a windmill that you do not come to mind. I still can see the one on the stage like it was yesterday.

It pains me to see the pain your mother carries and the toll the badge requires. Rest assured you are not forgotten. God bless you, your family, and all of us on the front line continuing the fight.

Son here I am on the 15th anniversary of the worst day of our life. It is so hard to believe you have been gone that many years. I still miss you everyday and think of so many memories we were supposed to make together. There are so many people leaving wonderful memories of you on fb and supporting your brother and me. I know you are always with me and protecting your family. I will always love and miss you my Son.

My heart forever,
Mother

I remember that day still. Starting with your mother on the floor together and ending with her and your bother praying that the Lord would hold you in his hands.
Your sacrifice was a game changer for me that day and still is. I still keep those you loved in my thoughts and prayers. You will never be forgotten.

I know you didn't finish high school in Taft with us, but you will always be a part of my youth. Andy, Kris, and a couple of the guys usually bring up your name and talk about the stories we have, you were quite the character. Our 20 year reunion is coming up soon, a time to look back and reflect, sure wish you could have been there. Obviously there was something special about you because 20 years later I can still remember you "accent" and those stories about you. Rest in Peace friend

Here we are once again Son I made it through another Christmas. Your brother and his family were here most of the day, I bought Linkin a police motorcycle/trike. He is so in love with it and it literally has all the bell, whistles, and lights you could want, I told him you would want to play with it too, he said that would be ok. Darling Andy it is so hard to realize that I haven't touched my child in 10 years, dammit that hurts, no matter how I say it, that is the truth. Your brother and I both know you are with us, he is finally getting to where he will at least talk about you, without getting mad. My Oldest Son there are so many things I need to talk to you about and I do just haven't been getting much of a response lately. I miss you with every fiber of my being, ok to be truthful I want you to come home to me. I know that can never be. God has you doing much more important things, just fit me in sometimes. I love you Andy, more than anyone else possibly could. I can only try to imagine the beauty of your Christmas with God. God and you hold my heart, along with your brother's part. Goodnight My Son. Merry Christmas, Darling Child of Mine.

My darling oldest son, here we are another holiday without you, it just doesn't get any easier. We have talked and laughed about you and things you did. Linkin is so very proud of his Uncle Andy and talks about you always. There are no words to say how very much I miss you my son, I know one day we will be together. Andy thank you for always being mine, my first born and first hero. I am still trying to figure all this out, don't have it done yet, but trying. I love you more than words. Nothing and no one can separate us. Happy Thanksgiving Son.

All my love,

Mother

Andy,
It's Michael Newbold. We went through the academy together. I still remember you had to go purchase a pair of running shoes to go through the academy. Strange to rember things like that. I have been on this site SEVERAL times, but didnt comment because I guess I didn't know what to say. I write this through tears for someone who's only hope was to work for the agency which he placed his life on the line for and ultimatley paid the ultimate price for. I am in AWE of the reflections you have recieved. You were an awsome person I only was allowed to get to know through our time at the acadeny, but know I was in in awe of your dedication and devotion to the citizens of Llano County, Texas where you ALWAYS said you wanted to be a Deputy. God Speed and Rest in Peace Brother knowing you made the ULTIMATE SACRIFICE Andy...

I never got to say how truly sorry I was to hear of your passing. I was living in Virginia at the time, and when I found out I was totally in shock. I can still remember the first time that you stepped into my American History class in 8th grade and I thought you had an amazing personality. May you rest in eternal peace and know the huge impact that you had on the lives of the people who got to know you. For your family, I pray that God will give you the peace which surpasses all understanding and that He will continue to wrap His loving arms of mercy around you all.

Deputy Taylor,
I was a detention officer in Burnet when you were taken from us and my Lt. was a very close friend of yours. We were on duty together when we heard the news. The next night we waited and hoped and prayed you would pull through. Sadly it was not to be. He took it very hard when we received the news of your passing. It is clear that you touched many lives and were loved and respected by everyone. Thank you for your honorable service. The protection you provided is greatly appreciated. You, your loved, and fellow deputies will always be in my prayers. Rest easy my brother.

Your heroism and service is honored today, the seventh anniversary of your death. Your memory lives and you continue to inspire. Thank you for your service. My cherished son Larry Lasater was a fellow police officer who was murdered in the line of duty on April 24, 2005 while serving as a Pittsburg, CA police officer.

Time never diminishes respect. Your memory will always be honored and revered.

I pray for solace for all those that love and remember you for I know both the pain and pride are forever. Your family is in my heart's embrace. Thanks to your family and friends for sharing their memories and devotion to you through their reflections.

Rest In Peace.
