Wow 7 years, it seems like forever but yet it doesn't. I went to the cemetery today and realize Doug Byrnes is buried very close to you. Small world - out of all the space at Fort Logan, you two are within walking distance of each other but you probably already knew that.
It was nice today to see how many of the soccer girls remember you and the talk you had with them the day you died. You made a lasting impression on them.
We miss you and love you - continue to shine on us with your spirit.
Always,
Kelly

Your heroism and service is honored today, the seventh anniversary of your death. Your memory lives and you continue to inspire. Thank you for your service. My cherished son Larry Lasater was a fellow police officer who was murdered in the line of duty on April 24, 2005 while serving as a Pittsburg, CA police officer.

Time never diminishes respect. Your memory will always be honored and revered. Rest In Peace.

I pray for solace for all those that love and remember you for I know both the pain and pride are forever. Your family is in my heart's embrace. Thanks to your wife and friends for sharing their memories and devotion to you through their reflections.

Yours was the first police funeral I had attended. Unfortunately not the last. I was stunned at the outpouring of love and respect. I thought everyone hated us. God bless your family and friends. Keep watch from up top.

Donnie:
My sister Lisa and I never had a chance to say THANK YOU for saving our lives on October 1, 1993. You were later honored with a medal for saving us but we should have thanked you. My sister Lisa recently passed away and had it not been for you, she and I would have been dead 18 years ago. Your sacrifice to your community and your passion to your job are greatly appreciated! Rest in Peace!

Tomorrow is Mother's Day, 6 years ago on Mother's Day my worst nightmare came true. It was that knock on the door to say you were never coming home again. I can remember that night like it was yesterday yet it seems like you've been gone forever. Sometimes I struggle to remember what your voice sounds like. Life just doesn't seem fair.
We miss you and continue to love you everyday. There isn't a day that goes by that we don't think about you in one way or another.
We love you.
Forever

I just needed to check in the day before the superbowl. This day always bring back memories. When you went to Miami with Jess and Marcia to watch Denver play, you were in heaven that day. All the years we went over to Kim and Chris's, the time we loaded the big TV in the car just to find out they already had enough TV's. Those were fun times.
We continue to miss you. Even as life continues on, you are thought of everyday and everything I do is to help heal our family and make the journey a little easier for those to follow.
Love you always.

We lost another officer yesterday. My heart sank when I got the call. It's unfortunate these losses bring me back to the day when we learned you were gone. Thanksgiving is in a few days and we will be thinking of you and wishing you were with us. We love and miss you everyday.

Kelsey has a gymnastics meet tomorrow and it's your birthday. If you were here, we'd spend the day celebrating Kelsey's accomplishments and your big day. You'd make me wait on you all day and I'd have to return the favor on the 29th when my birthday comes around. About now I'd be pulling my hair out trying to buy you something special, something for the man that has everything. I miss that and I miss you. We love you...never ever forget.

Five years today. When you first were taken, I didn't think I could last 5 minutes let along 5 years. Thank you for providing me the strength to continue on without you and to be a good role model for the girls. We think of you all the time, your smile, your laugh, where's the king's coffee. Every time I hear the neighbors diesel truck pull in late at night, I think of you. Don't ever allow your presence to go away. Kourtney needs you, I need you, and Kelsey needs you (well more me when she's having a melt down). If there is any divine intervention, we need it now. We love you and always will. Always let those stars shine so we can be closer to you.

Thinking of you and all of your loved ones today. There are no magic words I can give them to help them with their grief except that you are a true hero and heroes never die. You will never be forgotten.

Detective Young - We were well aware of your case and looking for the suspect 1000 miles away in Los Angeles. Recently, I stood in the State Assembly chambers two Fridays ago and heard your name read off during a motion regarding next month's Police Memorial Week. We will wear our mourning bands and pay tribute to you and Colorado's almost 250 other fallen L.E. members.

Thank you for your service to the people of Denver and the state of Colorado. May God grant you eternal rest and may His perpetual light shine upon you.
