Jerry,

You know we will never forget. Such a gift you were to all of us. A friendship that spanned a lifetime for you and Mike, cut short to leave him missing you so very much. He will never have another friend like you - as there is just something special about a childhood friend. You grow up together, know each other's family, history, and as adults - you continue the tradition by raising your own families together. We were blessed to be a part of yours as you raised Clayton and Amanda, and for a very short while, you shared in Madeline and Sam.

Remembering you on this day - but missing you always.

Ten years Jerry - seems like a lifetime ago, yet just yesterday.

Madeline was just in DC with her 8th grade field trip. They did not get to go to the Law Enforcement Memorial - but we have taken our kids. And - they always like to go "visit" the cemetery when we are in Minnesota! She graduates middle school here in a couple of weeks - and will start high school! It does go by so quickly.

I was just telling a friend our adoption story this past weekend - and of course you and Connie were such a big part of it. It was a night out with you two that really helped open my eyes to consideradoption. It was your support, your love, your faith in us that helped us become the family we are today. What a blessing your friendship was to us - in so many ways.

Sam missed out on so much not knowing you - but in so many ways he does - because we make sure of it. He is almost exactly the age Clayton was when we lost you. :( Middle school /AAU basketball, football, friends - but keeping away from the girls! They are too much drama for him! Haha.

10 years of life without you Jerry. A lifelong friendship cut short, relationships changed, memories missed. Still miss you so much - all of you. You know you are in our hearts - and will be forever.

It might be our own little "weird" thing - but it is what we do! Jerry - we never forget you for a moment - but on this day - we always come to your page to let you know in a tangible way that we are missing you. 9 years - yet still remember it as vividly as if it were yesterday! Wow - what a year it has been! You are a Grandpa!! That is simply amazing. Such a great joy and blessing - and so sad you are not here to meet your namesake in person. Your godson is getting so big - and he never stops asking about any of you! His sister... well she is a handful! Such a pretty little thing - and has all the spunk she had as a little one - except that spunk has gotten bigger as she has! Haha. Two middle schoolers next year - WOW! Soup has his hands full!! LOL! As life goes on - you are not here to share it with all of us - but you will forever be in our hearts. Miss you so very much - and always sending our love!

8 years ago our world changed when we woke up to the awful news. We will NEVER forget that moment - it was like time stood still. Life has moved forward - but we have never stopped looking back. So many great memories - yet we know we were robbed of so many that were yet to be made. Our hearts were broken - and still are. Missing you Jerry - today and every day. Never forgotten. Always in our hearts. With so much love from Kentucky ~

I was at the Sex Trafficking in the Midwest at Bethel University a couple of weeks ago and Officer Heather Weyker talked about Gerald Vick and the important job he was doing for women caught in prostitution. I am currently editing the footage from that seminar and it will be aired at the Suburban Community Channels 15 next week and later posted on
Thanks to all of you who are fighting against sex trafficking.

Jerry - you will always be in our hearts. We stop on the anniversary of the date we lost you to tell you how much we miss you- but know that those thoughts and sentiments are prevalant throughout the year - always. You would love it - we are living in Kentucky - in a dry county!! Sam is getting so big - loves that they are starting to call him "Soup" at school - and loves all things football!! Miss Mad is quite a young lady - we are just trying to keep her "reigned" in as she heads off to middle school next year!! haha!! Miss you always - especially today!

Thinking of you and your family on this seventh anniversary. We all began our grief journey at about the same time.

Your heroism and service is honored today, the seventh anniversary of your death. Your memory lives and you continue to inspire. Thank you for your service. My cherished son Larry Lasater was a fellow police officer who was murdered in the the line of duty on April 24, 2005 while serving as a Pittsburg, CA police officer.

Time never diminishes respect. Your memory will always be honored and revered.

I pray for solace for all those that love and remember you for I know both the pain and pride are forever. Your family is in my heart's embrace. I thank your friends for sharing their memories and devotion to you through their reflections.

Rest In Peace.

It will soon be seven years since that fateful day my friend, my brother. As a citizen of Saint Paul I always looked at you, as everything that was right about the Saint Paul PD, you most certainly were a knight in shining armor. I really do miss all the shop talk we use to have at the SA on Lexington & I-94. As a current corrections professional and you a former CO & casewoker remember brother your corrections brothers and sisters will keep the evildoer who did this locked up forever.
Rest in peace, my good friend and brother of the uniform.
God's speed and God bless you and your family, always.
